looks very nice @ first sight...
but ping is on server switching between 120 and 150 :/ and Packetloss is at about ~15 - 30 % :crap:
If pl could be sortet out and ping stays constantly @ 120 this would be the first playable server for Germany-Arsed-T-Loosers....
else its just another piece of crap shit o_O
 
You packet loss is starting when ur connection comes over the channel it seems n3Cro. And the link from docgw2.netkonect.net to the server could also have something to do with it.... My routing doesn't go through that network though.

Average F6 ping on a full server was a stable 90, which is the best Ive ever seen on any assault match server before.

Thanks for the new server Misty. I'm sure everyone here appreciates it being provided free of charge for use by league players. :thumb:

Please try however not to make throwaway comments along the lines of "I know PIPEX is crap for gaming and their routing is shit" in IRC when I point out that my in-game F6 ping is yo-yo-ing up and down between 60 and 180.

I realise that I'm in the ass-end of Scotland, and that my ISP is not the "We will guarantee you no more than 4 hops to any server, anywhere in the world, at any time and a maximum real ping in any game of 15" that Jolt hold themselves out to provide. However, I get stable F6 pings around the 70 mark to Gamerservers.nl, Jolt 1&2, the 2 League Servers at GamesWorld, all the Orange servers (and often as low as 45 there) and pretty much most UK/European servers. Its enough for me.

The problem I was having last night was pings were low - but would regularly spike up and down, which makes consistent aiming somewhat tricky, to say the least. The old server 5 from Gameservers.nl exhibits the same problem, not just for me, but for others on various different ISPs.

In the nicest possible way, could I ask you to reveal which OS the hardware provided by you is running on, and exactly how many Counter-Strike servers are also running from that hardware? :D

This was how things looked liked for me over 30 tests at the point you made that comment to me last night. Now, to me, I'm seeing stable pings all the way through, and no packet loss. OK, maybe the ping is not amazing, but it seems plenty good. Yet in game - oh dear. Anyway, here you are:

Hmm reverse tracing last night suggested that the spike was between your pc/router and pipex thur. And as your traceroute u've posted shows the most instable hop is hop1 at pipex, graph isn't well labeled but looks like 25-35ms, hops 2,3,4 fluctuating less. It might have problems with larger packets... try pinging various hops with larger packets.

And as I always say when people complain about the other servers, if it was the server then it would affect everyone and not continuously pick on individuals.
With my Tiscali ADSL (london) i've had a stable 90f6 on it.

The old server 5 from Gameservers.nl exhibits the same problem

Pedant! :D What I meant was Server 5, which is now server 4 (ooer, very Iron Maiden-esque there) is always a more spiky experience for me than server 6, which is now server 5.

Given that they're both on Gameservers.nl and the only difference is that one has a much beefier set of processors and ram than the other, my assumption was that the problem was more likely to be server-side.
 
Server#5 has never changed names. :P
Server#4 is the beefier ex-Server#6 (as 3 news announcements have stated including this one). And UT servers can only use one processor, i've no idea how gameservers servers are shared but there must be at least one on the same box as #4, taking advantage of the other processor.
 
Just ran over the server alone, had almost constant 2-5% PL and my ping was constantly bouncing along all the numbers under 50 ... most concerning was the fact my ping hit 0, i've seen it before on other servers and usually means my UT will lag like hell.. running a tracert shows that i get the most hops i prolly ever had to any server :(
