Netherlands is playing way too rough... Bertje better talk some sense into them during the break or this will turn into a game like vs Portugal, although the last 10 minutes did resemble a football match somewhat.

idd Menace, but imho this is the only way NL can compete with Spain. Spain is technically and gameplay-wise better.
You saw that in the first 15mins: Spain was dominant and NL had no chance, but then NL came back with fighting and their roughness.

That's the difference between the dutch and the german team in this competition: the german team never tried to do the rough style and prolly that was the big mistake against Spain.

oh boy, as a neutral football fan this match is pretty crap.

so many fouls. reminds me at the NL-Portugal match 4 years ago :(

oioi 100% chance missed by Robben.
incase NL loses this final i bet Robben will be haunted by this missed chance his whole life. :\

Now we see why those two teams were called chokers for a long time.
Unbelievable how many 100% scoring chances both sides miss :x

After Villa and Sneijder failed to score, Thomas Mueller won the golden show (5 goals and 3 assists) and ofc he most likely will get the price for the best young player.
When you consider that he played for Bayern II (third league) one year ago and now he gained this with just 20 years. He's a true successor of the almighty Gerd Müller.

Well that was disappointing.
NL played a strong physical game with no plan for how they were going to score.
ESP were more skillful but spoilt it with lots of lame diving and play acting. Pathetic.

Can't wait for the ice hockey season to start again.
Real men playing a strong physical game with no room for primadonna fag boys.

Here comes the 'if' excuses:
Deciding moment of the game: Robben vs casillas, not the first real big chance 1 on 1 (that was a nice save by cassilas), but the second chance, Puyol grabbing Robben his middle while sliding (with a yellow card already), if Robben 'schwalbed' that, Puyol would have been sent off.
Then 15 minutes later Iniesta does go down when Heytinga grabs his shoulder, and Heytinga gets sent off :(.

Furthermore it was a good game, strong physical play by NL and good chances for both sides.

NL were lucky to have 11 after half time, infact should have been left with 9 players! Bommel with heavy challenge on iniesta was defo a yellow card (maybe red) but then the constant fouling afterwards aswell was just disgusting and boring to watch, and De Jong's karate kid style kick was defo a red card, the slomo showed the force put into that.

I guess Howard didn't want to kill the final by showing a red card so early in the game so let them off with yellows.

Poor Robben, he will have nightmares of Casillas now

But to be fair you cant blame him for not scoring that 2. Very easy for ppl to call em 100 percenter and the like :P

At the first one the pace was way to high to lift the ball over Casillas and he even managed to trick him into jumping into the wrong direction. Considering how far out Casillas already was, the angle to hit the goal was rather small and thus Casillas could (deffo with more luck then anything, doubt it was even purpose) put a foot into the shot. Still a very good action by Casillas to limit the angle that far.

Well the second one would have been a red car for Puyol if Robben had decided to fall. And actualy a fully justified one considering how he was grabbing him. He was clearly hindered to run away from his 2 chasers and reach a decent shooting position (and the ball) befor Casillas. I guess that fact that Robbens complains were more or less justified (still gave him a booking) prevented him to be sent off after he shot into the goal despite offside was already shown.

Then again neither de Jong nor Iniesta should have been allowed to continued, and van Bommel was deffo on the edge of beeing sent off as well
