Ping Problem -10Mbit line shouldn't have that kinda prob :/

Hi.
I've noticed now the last weeks since I installed UT, that i get a ping up to 800, normally I used to have 50-100, now I've got 200-400 on ALL servers.. This problem is very annoying, though i have a 10mbit optical fiber connection.

So does anyone have any suggestion, some ping reducer or something?

I mean, playing with 300 ping on instagibservers just really sux...

I would absolutely appretiate replies =)

If U are playing from a place where more peeps are using the connexion, U should check if it is a hub or a switch controlling the in/out flow. I had constant loss on a 10Mbit for a while untill they bought a switch...

the last time i had such a problem my internetprovider changed their configuration (i forget) without telling me :(
i ended up installing a patch
 
High bandwidth for you doesn't solve bad routing or crowded Internetsegments in other places.. ;)

It was a bloody mistake from me, I had wrong netspeed set somehow.. I dunno how it got to whatever it was, but I sat Netspeed 40000 and it's down to 40-110 ping on most servers =()

OK, then here comes another problem; I'm on a lousy 486 with 20Meg RAM, would it be able to run a dedicated server? I bet it wouldn't :D
 
Nope, i aint gonna set no server up no more, because when i put the server up on this Comp (P3) the trusted admins, fucked it up.. And i don't know whom i can trust.. Cause these admins went in as players, logged in as admins and spawned cows and that childish stuff when there were games on.. i mean, when I set a server up, when there's 12 players online playing with low ping, there shouldnt be some damn fjooker to mess that up, it's lame!

LoL, look at me, yelling around .. Well well, anyways, I might consider that 1 on 1 Server, but I doubt it :D

Anyways, is there a way to set a serve rup without installing UT? I mean so you can run it dedicated directly with only the server files?
