OK peeps......I need a new GFX card.

My ASUS 9999GE nvidia 6800 has kicked the bucket :(

Luckily it was covered by the ASUS 3yr warranty so I got my money back :D

So, with a budget of upto about £200 what gfx card should I consider ?

MUST be AGP.

Now theres a question

imo add a bit more dosh and go for

you can use your existing kit for the rest

i think u gonna get more than enuff fps for your tft

and better bang for bucks than a top end agp card

i havent checked prices around went ebuyer just for convnience

 Use the change for a haircut ?

@Chris: Did you ever upgrade, if so what to ?

I went for the 6800GT (AGP) in the end, soon after you got yours.

How did yours fail btw? Overheating? Voltage control?

My money is always sticking with NVIDIA based cards, you hear more problems from people with ATI cards than you do with NVIDIA (driver issues etc).

Your best bet is to do as DB says, upgrade the motherboard to PCI-e, that way you're much more flexible for gfx upgrades in the future.

I have a 6600GT (PCI-e) in my other PC, which runs great with games like Q4/F.E.A.R/BF2

I think it was the fan controller, the fan would suddenly stop and just sit there twitching. Power off for a few mins and it would start again, swapped PSU just to be sure I wasn't running low on juice too.

Appreciate the feedback.

Looks like mine just died :(

Boots up to this now.. It started happening during a uEd session last week, but now happens on fresh boot. Formatted / installed windows.. It occurred once during setup, and now on every boot.

CRAP!

I had a pc with a similar prob had a radeon 9800 pro the screen looked very similar

turned out to be a dodgy power supply with the voltages fluctuating put in a new one and prob was fixed
