On behalf of YMD. Interesting game here guys, take a look and have a read...

I've promoted DotA in the past, and people were always like "WTF is DotA"? Well, the prodgical spawn-child of DotA has hit the internet world, and has quickly become one of the most popular MMOs out there (not to get confused with RPGMMOs).
This game is completely free, very competitive and very fun ... though the learning curve may be steep and painful if you tend to suck at strategy games. In short, this game is basically like a RTS, but with only one unit (a hero), and with the competitive intensity of any FPS (no aiming skills needed though).
Anyways, the game is lotsa fun, and its FREE!

except heroes of newerth is a real clone of dota, only with better graphics

the map is exactly the same down to nearly every hill and tree positionning

the gameplay is exactly the same aswell

HoN is basically what UT2k3/4 SHOULD have been to UT99 imo (better graphics but same weapons maps and general fast paced gameplay, with a few nice tweaks like a better HUD and server listing and stuff)



LoL might be a good game but if you want to stick with the game that created a whole new style, HoN is definitely worth it :)

edit: also, don't wanna sound too elitist but I believe HoN is where the real deal is happening, there's a lan party with 20000$ in prizes annouced and a 12000$ in prize tournament hosted by myMYM
too bad I don't have a team :(

Dota currently has as 30.000$ tournament running so ave that :P dota is the real deal. Unfortunately I don't have a team either :(
