Future of this Leauge

  • Hey - turns out IRC is out and something a little more modern has taken it's place... A little thing called Discord!

Join our community @ https://discord.gg/JuaSzXBZrk for a pick-up game, or just to rekindle with fellow community members.

Aren't you older than 12 years and yet you are still here.

Age has nothing to do with it, if people want to play the game let them. I cant see this fascination some people have that when they stop playing something then everyone else should also stop playing it, what difference does it make to you?

the gameplay of a tense competitive map is still amazing

problem is the difficulty getting fair teams with peoples attitudes here

The league has been invented around an also steady grown up UT99 game with the enormous help from all devoted and addicted UT99 fans and also the specialised computer professionals and hardware and software insider.

A few of us have seen and experienced the game and computer history from its beginning. Games that are able to attract even after 10 years are very rare. That is why players still contribute to UT99 and the UTA league.

The major changes are beeing based on the different life phases from each individual. I am sure that more players would like to play UT99 though they are as a matter of fact limited in their free time.

How can the UT99 league manage to be optimal prepared to individual spare time requirements?

To keep the league running we have to find anwers to this prize question. Are delicious served UT99
competitions able to satisfy our needs?

Left unused ideas are for example instagib competitions that can also be mixed with pro as elements.

Another idea can be total random start competitions that will find their completed big bang final battle over different chapter stages. You need to compare results from 1 versus 1 results followed by another logical 1 v 1 game or 2 v 2 that separates the players strengh sharp enough to lead into final champion stages. That means a game experience that is absolutely random from the game start and complets final stages itself based on the game rules.

Basically players are separeted by various competitions to ensure highly fair competing teams over individual results comparison.

After the final game is over the numbers from each player are revealed to the players name.
Each player can send the start game number, that will be therefore for example randomized into a predefined combined start logic, only known to the game trustee, and that means none knows exacly whom they play. It also means each player is able to have a random effect even to the game start.

People keep making new competitions to keep interest alive and they always get the turnouts needed. Pug is still popular enough to keep going (easily), especially withe the help of the pug league. The forums are still more than alive. The actual league itself might be in big trouble, but the league is not the same thing as the community.

Closing the leagues would mean less work for the admins, work that may be pointless even now, but I don't see it impacting on the community very much - people spend all their time in #utapug now, not #utassault.

Not commenting, just pointing it out... :p: But tbh, if you are going to comment on someone else's poor spelling/grammar/English, you should go to the effort of getting your own correct, whether it's a forum, or anywhere else.
