So what did you make of it? i quite enjoyed the movie but the storyline was abit dodgy now and then. i liked the fact that Bond killed without any reason.. he is a lot rougher now, he used to make a lot of funny comments but thats gone now.

Overal an enjoyable movie 7/10

I enjoyed it.... BUT.... imo it has been overhyped here in a big way so you go to the cinema to see it and expect major wow factor and come out dissappointed. Dont get me wrong it is a good film, but if you were to compare it to Casino Royale then imo it is no where near as good.

That said i will buy it on DVD when its out as well :)

5/10

bond is on his way being an action hero again... im kinda bored of those mr perfect saves the world movies
the plot of the movie was good but not very much story to it which is disguised in the confusing storyline where the audience got to extract almost every bit of information itself

also paid 9 euros for this which i find too much

No bond-humour (witty comments), no bond-gadgets, awful cut throughout the whole movie (especially the opening scene and the chase scene soon after...almost unwatchable), rushed script because of the writers' strike, daniel craig lacks the charisma of bond, awful music (you don't even hear the classic bond tune during the movie, can you believe it?!) and the bad guys, oh god... terrible.

However for some reason I didn't have to check the clock during the 105minutes so I guess it was somehow a bit entertaining at least. Props for the opera scene, which was pretty cool actually.

4/10

Good review imo

If you want to see a great action film with a gritty lead character, which seems to be the aim with the latest Bond films, then watch 'Taken' starring Liam Neeson.

There were a few moments in which i had to laugh. So there's some bond humor but not as much as in the Sean Connery times..
There were bond gadgets (interactive video table, telephone gadgets, super mini sony vaio laptop that i never saw before.)
The cut through scene (or whatever you can call it) is something you'll find more often in the future. The bourne series introduced this editing into hollywood (after japanese animation movies had them before.)

The script is kinda confusing... i have to agree on that. Although it was about 2 years ago that i saw the last bond. I was sitting at the cinema and thinking "who the fuck is vesper?".

Music was always something the bond series lacked imo. But the current OST is a continuation of the mood that the other bond movies had. The classic bond tune can be slightly heard in some of the tunes during the bond movie and is completely shown at the end credits ( WHY THE FUCK DOES EVERYONE LEAVE AT THE END CREDITS!? IT'S A DISRESPECT FOR THE MAKERS :shout: coming from a film editor himself;))

The bad guy was kinda a relief. Luckily it was no man with diamonds all over his face. That was the worst
But ah hell, all the bond movies with pierce brosnan (except goldeneye) sucked donkey balls!

The opera scene was magnificent. Was some style of editing i have barely seen last couple of years. Great work!

and the best part of the entire movie was imho the opening credits. And that says more about it, than it says about the movie. Which was quite good as well imo.

7/10 :)

I must have completely missed the witty comments/humor then...

That stuff is boring! I was looking for something like the water sphere, bowler hat (goldfinger :thumb:), exploding pen and special watch with laser and remote detonator :D I realise they went too far with the invisible car in one of the more recent bonds (can't remember atm) though. Talking about cars, where was bond's missile armed car!

Ah well, maybe I'm just too much into the old skool Bonds.

The invisible car technology is akshully technicaly possible, altough not yet for that kind of size, and it wouldn't be bullet-proof. It's just a bit silly to base whole movies on technical goodies.

IMO the bad guys are as important as Bond in Bond movies.

The bad guy was crap in Quantum!

A little twerp with no charisma. I don't know why they chose him or why the whole persona was so milky. It was obviously intentional, just didn't work (imo of course). Casino Royale's villain was cool, so what's up with this?

Fact is, Bond is one of the most successful film franchises of all time. There is a reason it's still going after getting close to 50 years and that is that people love and know what makes a Bond film i.e WINNING FORMULA!

So to start screwing around with Bond and making him all pre-menstrual and jagged rather than the whole womanising, cheesy, vodka martini ordering man with a license to kill.... is just WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG ! (imo of course!)

I know some people will like the new films, and be glad of the changes but face facts, this may as well be Bond 2.0 or something. Just call him John Smith and start again rather than ripping off the original name and fame, and turning it into something it has never been.

Some change is good, but (imo again!) all this change is crap.

And what else annoys me is that Daniel Craig is a really good actor. I really don't like him playing Bond, cos of his looks, but fact is he is a good actor. So why not give him some proper story to sink his teeth into?

Also - Bond gadgets are stuff he or others use 'in the field'. Cool stuff. Doesn't include crappy interactive 6 foot iPhone lookalike tables etc.

Brain - music lacking in Bond ? Do you mean suspense music etc ? Because Bond has a list as long as my arm of well known theme tunes, Shirley Bassey, Sheena Easton, Live and Let Die etc etc etc etc etc etc......... and obviously the proper Bond theme tune which is wicked when it comes in during some mad getaway or something!

And that brings me to my next point. What the fuck is up with putting the so called queen of RnB with that tit from the White Stripes? This has to be the worst Bond theme tune ever. It completely ruined the opening artwork which was pretty good.

The more I have seen this movie (3 times now) the more I dislike it for using the Bond name. It's more like Mark Foster or whatever the director's name is, getting his cock out, twirling it around the room and going look at me look at me, I can make Bond do as i please!

Well fact is, Foster, your movies shit, and so is your face! now GTFO!

But apart from that it was alright. 4/10
