Killing for peace of mind?
What an amazing concept!
Iraq aren't a threat to us. Jeez the best we can come up with on the news is that the Russians have sold the Iraqi's Night Vision Goggles, GPS Jammers and Anti-Tank Missiles. Damn I am scared.

If this war is about killing for "piece of mind " then why the fuck aren't there B52's raining fire down on the fucking Whitehouse right now? I am a Jew Rich, but ffs look at the molly-coddling that the Israelis have benefited from?

There is no justification for this war - when compared to atrocities that are happening elsewhere in the world.
The Iraqi's can't even put up a fight ffs-they got 10 year old weapons. We know their military capability ffs-didnt take a genius to work out-we just looked at the invoice.

the Iraqi's arnt a threat to us but saddam is thru selling his weapons to terrorists

the white house isnt about to unleash chemical weapons on the UK and other countrys
the isrealis are "our friend" so they get away with what they do which i dont agree with.

as with whats happening around the wrold i agree theres more justification for the US/UK to invade Isreal than Iraq going on that Ireal has broken more UN resolution, and im shure now that the US has had its fingers Burnt that we wont see another invason like this against other equally vile dictators

but as for Iraq not putting up a fight i think there putting up a far better fight than was expected and there deffinatly not rolling over and yes we know there millitary capabilitys and there suspected capabilitys thats one reason were fighting, but we deffinatly under estimated there military stratagy.

"one man fighting for his home is worth 10 paid soldiers" i forget were thats from but its proven right on many occasions with this one included i fear

as for the russians supplying weapons to use against us, im shure old Tony will probbaly throw a few million in aid towards russia for that no doubt, ffs and there supposed to be are friends now??

supprised the french havent sent weapons aswell (see falklands war for details) :(

i understand what your saying about there bieng equally bad and worse countrys in the world and i agree and id like to see them delt with but thats not going to happen not after this many casualties in such a short time from the "world police" first scurmish but is this war justified in my oppinion it is to remove saddam hussain and his generals.

I think another reason why Israel gets coddled so much (apart from the fact that there are tons of Jewish Senators on Capitol Hill) is that Israel is pretty much the only democracy in that part of the world.

It is surrounded by, in no particular order, Monarchies, Dictatorships and Theocracies. No matter how bad its leaders are, the people of Israel (at least in theory) can vote them out and replace them with a better lot. This simply isn't true in Iran, Iraq, Syria, Jordan, etc etc.

This doesn't excuse atrocities commited by the Israelis at all, but I think that these days, the USA would rather support (even if only proto- or fledgling) democracies than dictatorships etc.

Churchill said that "Democracy isn't the best, but its the best we've got". At the end of the day, Iraqi people will have a far better chance for a peaceful, properous life in a capitalist democracy than in some corrupt, socialist style, planned economy Dictatorship/Theocracy/Monarchy. Cuba and Scotland are the only places left on earth where people still think communism/socialism can be made to work, despite the overwhelming evidence from all other countries that have tried it, and seen themselves go down the tubes because of it.

Of course, how that transition is made is what is causing all the current disagreement.

Thur dont forget China :) they are pretty communist i believe. And bb come on you think the yanks think its a fiscally wise move to spend $75bn on 'freeing' Iraq and protecting the rest of the world including france and germany from saddams reach. Lets not forget the last saddam type... Gaddafi duck. he supplied explosives to the terrorists who supposedly blew up the Pan Am flight over Lockerbie and also sent 1000's of weapons to the IRA including 2 tonnes of semtex explosives and 650 AK47's all to piss off the UK and US.

So BB we should we just wait until Saddam gives some nutter chemical or biological weapons, to go do his dirty work for him?

And yes the Americans are as bad as anyone, but they are expected to police the world. They have also sacraficed 100000s of troops to save parts of the world which they could have simply sat and watched rot.

So BB we should we just wait until Saddam gives some nutter chemical or biological weapons, to go do his dirty work for him?

Pray tell me how Saddam came to have his hands on the chemical agents in the first place?
Members of the coalition sold them to him.
So should we wait until the US or the UK sells Chemical agents to some nutter???? Oh my -they already have.

As for Gadaffi having sold Arms to the IRA - see most of those "Russian" and "Arab" and "Asian" manufactured weapons - parts for those were made at the Royal Ordanance Factory in Nottingham - about 30 seconds walk from were I was bought up.

See this thread I started was about the hypocrisy of the War.
Evident in both those who are fighting and those opposed, who are using it as a political platform.
I got 2 of my m8's over there now - I just hope they come back safe and come September we shall be playing Football together again. I'll be interested to hear it from the horses mouth and not from a politicised point of view.

We know war is full of hipocrisy, and yeah the US sold/gave Saddam biological weapons, we know the Americans have done some dumb ass stuff. but does that mean we should back and let him proliferate, no.

As for saying bits for the IRA/Lybian weapons were made here... I gotta ask what your point is? My point was that these type of people support terrorism and should be stopped, pre-emptively if needed. why should we let more states become N Koreas, a state that is threating the use of nuclear weaponsm maybe they should have let McArthur do his best huh.

And of course its political, is it a coincidence that its rare for governments to lose elections after recently won wars. Though this wasnt the case in WWII.

My point? So contributing to the weapons terrorists use and supplying them with Chemical Agents is not in itself contributing to terrorism? Doesn't get more black and white.

I deliberately left China out of my list because they are in the somewhat unique position of being a "communist" country with a capitalist economic system. Politically they are communist, economically they are capitalist.

Cuba & Scotland however think that political and economic communism/socialism can be made to work.

:D

how about saying the us trained em in the first place ;) Bin was trained and used by the us before he became a terrorists, the us made a mistake and now they want us to help em bail themselfs out. Maybe we should bomb the us ? after all they turned a blind eye to the ira funding, helped arm some of the worlds worst terrorist`s

So may the country with no sin cast its first nuke please...hmm no takers :/

This war is bullshit wake up ppl and smell oil scented bullshit

/me cuts his strings and thinks for himself

LOL Thur, well i suppose you could argue the communism bit is to hide the true dictatorshoip then. I understand that only certain regions of the country are allowed a capitalist market, not 100% sure, just rings a bell.

Well saddam and US were mates when they did this. Then he found he had been backstabbed, so when you supply something to a supposedly friendly you dont expect it to be used by terrorists, or at least not used against urself lol. HE didnt support terroism as the americans seen it at that point. back to politics i suspect.

Yeah the proliferation of any NBC weapon is stupid, and should be banned. I suspect the yanks will be more cautious of who they make their beds with in future.

Maybe we should analyse our reasons for being anti the war. Is it for the 'right' reasons or so we can stand up and say "NOT IN MY NAME" in a loud voice and have a clear conscience. And so avoid any responsibility. While another few thousand Iraqis die merely for opposong Saddam. I have severe problems with this war, especially as it looks like being a bit of a runner, but I won't stop supporting it just so I can say it wasn't my fault. The good countries of the world (and I number USA amongst them despite the fact that I don't like them much) are right to take a stand against countries which perpetuate fear and terrorism against the world and against their own people. Blair and Bush can be voted out at the next free and fair election in their respective countries. Shame the same can't be said for Iraq, North korea, Burma, Zimbabwe, China etc. Most of the despotic countries contribute fuck all to the world at large. Yet their people are poor, opressed and the countries rely on aid from...guess where...

US' reasons for the war are extremely questionable imo, any other nation could declare war towards the US with the same arguments.

found some nice stuff on a german site, (www.an-der-front.de) it's a forum where you can discuss about the war. some of it is fairly ironic though.

arguments for declaring war towards US:

- they have weapons for mass destruction

- they offend the "genfer conventions"

- they threaten other countries with "serious consequences"

- country should be stabilized and a real democratic government should be introduced (not democratic-wannabe as it is right now)

- they scare us

- bring the freedom of speech back so the oscar winners dont have to hurry before the music starts playing :D

(it's not a complete list)

just found someone asking this question: if at the right time someone would have given ALL THE MONEY that was spent in ALL wars in the region around iraq isreal etc to push their education, economy and communication with other countries, could the wars between democratic / islamic countries have been avoided?

excuse the shit english cba to look up words in a dictionary

the best argument against war is that it is against one person, but way too many others get involved. how would you feel if you were from iraq, living a normal life, and some bombs kill some of your (innocent) friends and destroy everything that you've built up.

Im all for getting rid of the badies, but wouldnt a sane person start at the top of the list with the worst person\countrey and work it down. to bad theres no oil in tibet.

off topic, but.... which sad fucker gets paid to come up with these cool flashy buzzword names for the army ops?
