Click start service, under services in administrative tools?
Do you not know how to restart the service or does the service not restart?

The service just wont start, this is not my PC its someone elses. Both RPC services (locator too) are disabled on the PC and when you try to start one it does nothing, the other has no option to start it, and when you try and open properties nothing happens. When the PC boots up it says the RPC cannot be started. The taskbar and menu have disappeared, so you have to use taskmanager and File>New Task>Explorer to do anything.

I can't do what Fin suggests as its XP Home and we don't have a disc for it. Is that in the command prompt or run option MYM?
