here are some UT benchmarks from http://www6.tomshardware.com

The performance of both Radeon cards in this benchmark is clearly inferior and can only be explained with a serious driver issue. NVIDIA is having ATi for breakfast in this benchmark.

radeon is cheaper, but not faster in games according to the benchmarks. But i dont think it will be better even with the final drivers :/

Bah Twatino...

Radeon is inferior cuz it's a new card with immature drivers...

Geforce 3 & its drivers are a few months old...

Give the Radeon some time and it will rule.

this isn't a question about "learning from mistakes" it's a question of creating drivers that can rival those of nvidia, who undoubtedly know their business

- ATI made bad drivers in the past

- The Radeon 8500 is a gr8 piece of hardware and has the potential to beat all GF with a good set of drivers...

So why isn't it about "learning from mistakes"?

cuz ati have made great hardware in the past, thats not really the issue at hand, learning from past mistakes = 0

it's about creating sumat new from scratch, I doubt they have the skillz

Fact of the matter is Nvidia have a Driver development team who are totally unrivalled. Their driver development team & policy is second to none. To give you an idea, they do a driver debug test and run on a super high performance server array every night (testing the builds from that day).

ATI just doesn't have that kind of driver development team. Nvidias drivers are probably the biggest reason they are where they are in the market today, in the past they've managed to beat off the competition who has equal or better hardware simply on the speed, reliability and features of their drivers.

ATI will have to put a LOT into driver investment to beat Nvidia at the own game, doesn't seem likely to me.

Uhm tek u are bitching about the things ace has sad in MIRC but u really doing the same by puthing his quote in ur sig.
u Twat

yep, radeon will kick your asses with all its capacity in use... with that fillrate difference ati will kick ass
