I found this on another forum

seems W1zzard has taken it upon himself to create a new over-clocking tool for ATi graphics cards, which has been a big hit so far called ATi Tool Version 0.0.12

It incorporates 'artifact detection' software and an option to find your max core and memory clocks (nice for beginners) at the push of a button. Its very easy to use and i believe it doesnt use lots of system resources like some over-clocking tools.

ive been testing the 'Find Max Core & Memory' option and its pretty good (i think it trys to find the highest 'stable' clocks). I know that my Radeon 9700np @ stock is 275/275 and the highest ive got from them are 415/300 (watercooled), the program managed to detect 405/294 as the highest stable over-clock possible, which seems good.

nice tool, before I ran it I had 432/346 (9800pro) and after 15 mins of running it told me my best was ......

432/346 :D

ran for quite a while without errors at 440/350

I overclocked my £50 cpu from 1.4GHz to 2.03 Ghz
I overclocked my £120 GeForce 4 Ti4200 128 MB (can't remember the exact, but it was high)

There is no way in hell I'm overclocking a £400 graphics card (9800XT 256MB) I don't care how easy it is, accidents do happen :D

@ Apoc, surely you don't need to overclock the XT - afaik it has the 'overdrive' feature which automatically overclocks the card on demand?

Looks nice Arse, will have a play tonight when I get home :) My max stable overclock (9800pro also) is 441/369 - I've had it much higher than that, but that is highest running speed with no artifacts or glitches at all :D I use an Arctic VGA cooler seen here http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Online_Catalogue_Other_Coolers_57.html which I think is superb value for money - gave me about 20% extra stable overclocking and makes half the noise of the standard ATI fan :D

The overdrive is a safe automatic way of overclocking, as such the gains from it are limited, overclocking manually should give you higher final speeds.

Well your both right.

I don't need to overclock it, so I'm not atm. Why take the risk (as there is always risk involded) of invalidated my warranty.
