So, looking at the current tech available, current prices, etc... what're your plans for that next smoking machine?



I am budget oriented fellow, and tend to take the ass-end of the technology train. I am looking now at the 1.1Ghz Celeron, and a TUSL-2c mainboard (ASUS). I have the mobo and the case, and the processor. The memory is a little limited for the board (3 slots, 512MB max.), but it supports everything to ever rest on a socket370. GeForce 3 Tit, Audigy, ... front side bus will be 100Mhz. My bottleneck will continue to be the user (me)

And I am doing it for less that US$600. :cool:

What's soon to be under YOUR desk?

That ASUS board is a jumper-less DEMON. It's a happy board. Put a huge heat sink, 3 fans in the box, 1 on the sink.

so far, heat has not been an issue...

The 533 was the only one that would sort out the bus/clock multipliers. That was a great value.

Which motherboard are you using?

Not exactly sure but it only supports up to 600mhz and if I runn it at that then it won't boot.

I think I might have to spend some money soon
