and? I ran UT on a 333MHz Celeron 1 and got more FPS than that.

His slow FPS is either an incorret setup (or old drivers) or his video card is screwed :p. Because an 800Mhz will push UT at around 100 FPS.

would also like my ut2 runnign a bit faster. using 1024 at about medium details there atm and i get around 40 or 30 fps quite frequently. I suppose my CPU is the bottleneck there :\

What specs?

Theres a fuck load of things to tweak in UT2003

well first of all i dont want to use trilinear and i dont want to use lower than 1024x768 and i dont want to use low texture detail

so here my specifications: palomino 1900+ (1,6 ghz), ti4400 by ASUS 128 mb, 768 mb RAM 512 of it are kingston well anyway ram running at CL2. 133 MHZ FSB, shitty ECS mobo, no sound card :moon:

Ive already disabled foliage as its shit anyway. also disabled actor shadows or hows it called :P coronas also off because theyre also crap, most details levels at normal.
using 41.09 dets.

omg.
i just installed the new driver, then enabled openGL.
UT restarted and within a time of 30 seconds or so my UT barely went through 7 frames in the intro. I press escape on the intro screen and then I discover the menu is lagging like a bitch, my mouse pointer kept disapearing for 3 secs then appearing again (effect of lag), and it took some pinpoint accuracy and patience to navigate through the menu's. can some tell me wtf this problem is.
my specs are shown in my signature below (apart from graphics, i got and ATI Rage 128 now :( )

Right -

Use the uploaded opengl renderer in ut options in the opengl section use these lines ill explain some which u might wanna change...

Description= <-- add if u like description of ur gfx card which can be found in d3d section.

try those if u still have problems then it might be a problem with windows.

i using the driver you gave me and put those lines in my ut.ini but i still got the same problem as before :(

/me checks openGL settings on graphics card.

check right drivers for gfx card install dx9 make sure no hardware conflicts/half hanging off

why ? who cares about a slightly longer loading time it caches all the files needed on the map u play so it runs faster and less stuttering only time u should use it is with low amounts of video memory

might be the ATI, i can remember on my TNT2 (comparable to a rage 128) D3D worked okish while OpenGL was jerky as hell, about 1 fps or so. think them old graphics cards dont support opengl properly.

And trilinear, paa, is np i mean for my computer trilinear is even faster than bilinear.

detailtextures, your right, this really presses fps rates down, and looks only marginally better (barely noticable at farther distances)

id either wait a while and get a 9700 pro for under 200 or get a rad 9500 PRO now for under 150 :]
