It's waaaaaayy too hot.
A C2D shouldn't get over 30 or 35 degrees when idling. During stresstests (like Prime95 pr orthos) everything below 61 degrees is fine.
Normally a C2D with boxed cooler doesn't reach teh 55 degrees limit when stressed.
Hmm that could explain your problems.

Possibly the cooler ain't fitting or just aint touching the CPU correctly.
As i changed the cooling paste, i had that myself. My C2D got very hot and i had to refit the cooler.

yes its working now, cooler didnt fit perfectly before

no its just the temperature fixed, the other problems are still there, no worries

Formatting helped, got still the problem with memtest but I guess its broken somehow, rest seems to work however.

So thanks for the help, hope this thread has its happy end now
