MapVote LA13 / Monster Hunt Bug?

Installed Monster hunt on ULL server and added it to server packages / mapvote ini.

Ok mapvote lets u vote for MH from any other gametype np but when u finished a map or u get beaten you cant vote for any map or game type so it picks out a random map then mapvote starts working again :(

I have running Monsterhunt with MapvoteLA13 and there is no problem at all, so maybe you want to provide us your mapvoteLA.ini ;)

btw: is your bCheckOtherGameTie true or false?
 
Well, I'm still puzzled as to why mapvote is not working right anymore. Seems fine for others from the server I got, but when it comes to my own...nothing. Use to work & even got it off the server again, but it still freezes up when a map is to be voted on or if I press my key to bring it up. It then proceeds to exit from the server, yet on the DFP server, I seem to be there & the mapvote comes on later, though by then I am no longer in (but just get that I'm-in-the-map-but-not-really-there effect). Nothing shows in the console & my log doesn't say anything to pin point to as why. Has worked offline on my own machine & tried what I could to rectify it. I may look at it a bit more to cover all the possible bases, but if anyone got an idea or solution, I'm open to it.

Btw, Cratos tried to help me before, but that didn't seem to fix it. :(
 
Cunfused more than can be imaginable here.So much so I'm ready to throw in the towel! I have been at trying to figure out thie no "timer" thing as I posted on page 8 i believe it was few days back.Private sevrer verything works fine.Did nothing different and I be kablamies!! It didn't work on my public server.I put in the mapvotela13 the timer left.Took it out timer comes home.Doesnt do this on my private server.Also, I even copied the inis.Every single one from my priv server to public one.Even went over them word for to make sure they copied correctly.So, I have no clue wht the problem is other than (SIGH) I'm a blond. :S Wonder if even owning a server is even wise for this female anymore :S Any ideas anyone ?

Mapvote with a limited number of maps

Hi MapvoteLA community,

I have tried to figure this out and am confused by the multiple lists. I'm trying to put a certain group of maps in col 4 and I can't get the placement correctly for that. Can you help.

These 'ListxFilter[y]=' lines ordering is mandatory afaik, in other words i think u broke the chain.
Put these 'ListxFilter[y]=' lines back as default order. Refer to MAPVOTELA release archive. Or u could back up and then delete the whole [MapVoteLA13.BDBMapVote] section and see the new one created next time u launch UT.

I have been looking for examples of how to have a dedicated list that is of the same gametype, not BT, JB etc in the 4th col, but haven't seen any. I'll continue to look, but I don't know what you mean by your statements....sorry I need visuals, concrete "pictures" for us non-programmers....I feel like the Dog in the old Larson cartoon where the caption reads, What people say, "Here's Your Dinner", What Dogs Hear...."Blah, Blah, Blah".

If you could show me what I did wrong, then I might get it. What I "see" when I look at the lines are multiple lists of List1Filter[0] but I don't "see" the relationshps between the List1Filter[0] in one section of the ini to another section of the ini.

I'll continue re-reading the LA12 section as well, but I'm not seeing examples that help me...I am learning alot, but not what I need for my purpose....Thanks though....remember what the dog "hears" for me at least....LOL.

What he's basically saying before is that your List4Filter[#]'s are split up whereas they should be all together. I can see that List4Filter[3] to [9] are repeated again below & it shouldn't be like that. :nono:

For MapvoteLA to work u gotta keep same order and aspect in its dedicated ini section. Now that u know this, i guess u will have it easier to get ur List4 working, though i cant guarantee no other errors is present.

Its a fact u have to avoid renaming maps at all cost, as clients would have to DL the map again.

I think u didnt get my initial point so i will try to explain it again to u. U messed with order of lines 'ListxFilter[y]=' check my previous post for default ordering, because thats the only one sequence of 'ListxFilter[y]=' lines MAPVOTE will understand bulletproof! In other words, ur MAPVOTELA13 section is supposed to contain all the lines default ini bundled in package has, respecting their order. Within [MAPVOTELA13...] section, put all 'ListxFilter[y]=' lines in one straight shot beginning with 'List1Filter[0]=' and ending with 'List4Filter[47]=', all these lines should be sorted with correct order and leaving nothing inbetween these lines.

I dont get ur point? If there is no 'T-CTF-Niven' map then why do u put it in 'List4Filter[0]=T-CTF-Niven' ?
Instead put the real name of a map u want to appear in List4.
Should this be not enough info to figure out the problem, provide us with the name of the MOD ur trying to run in list 4 as well as some sample map names which typically run under this MOD, that should help ppl understand ur problem with List4.

On a sidenote, I had a look at ur last posted MAPVOTELA13 section ini settings and know from ur previous posts u read forums. Can u plz look for info on the following lines, or compare them to other inis posted. At first look I dno their function, but they might be interfering at some point further on, if u got more time to learn MAPVOTELA settings just ensure of what these lines are for.

I want to play TDM, DM, CTF with non zeroping and TDM with zeroping Sniper but ich have one problem.
In the fourth i want to to play zeroping Sniper TDM, but it doesnt work correct in the fourth Window i see no map
and zeroping is also in first TDM. :(

Thanks Pop....I will look at your original post, other ini's again and print these posts out so I can see them better. I was confused as I thought you had to have the map prefixes named the same way as this line in the ini...CustomGameConfig[3]=(bEnabled=True,GameClass="EUT_1D.SmartCTFGame",Ne wPrefix="T-CTF",Mutators="",Settings="")

in order to be sorted by the filter for the 4th col.

It might be worth you posting your server log file to confirm exactly what's happening. AFAIK it should never launch an invalid map, since it would check to see if it exists before it is listed in MV.

FYI (popioul), it doesn't actually matter what order the variables are in, so long as there are no duplicates.

As there is no map called T-CTF-Niven in my map folder. Does this mean that I have to rename all the maps I want in this 4th col? and then would the players get all new versions dl to them? And I would have to recompress for the redirect....plz tell me no!!!

your configuration is 100% correct, I think the only problem is the dash in the prefix "T-CTF". Try to use "TCTF" instead (it's cause the dash is used to seperate prefix and mapname so unreal gets confused if there is an additional dash in the prefix, I assume it thinks that "T" is the prefix ;))

So it would look like this:

...and no, you don't have to change the filenname of the map in your maps folder!

btw if you don't change mutators/settings of the T maps why do you load them seperately at all?


Sidenote/Explanation:
A "virtual" or "new" prefix is introduced by the mapvote simply to being able to distinct the maps that are loaded more than one time because they are used for different gametypes. For example if you want to run CTF and insta-CTF you have to create a new virtual prefix like "iCTF" so the maps have a different name in the mapvotescreen and people know that one of them is the insta map. In the filters you have to use the new prefix aswell, thats the way you can distinct CTF from iCTF like
ListAFilter[Y]=CTF-*
ListBFilter[X]=iCTF-*
The physically filename of the map in your maps folder never changes, it's just a "virtual" help of the mapvote system to distinct maps of different gametypes.
