I have a netgear WRG 614 router wireless linked to my brothers PC

I also own a D link 300G+ modem (ethernet).

If i plug the 300G+ into my pc ethernet port it works fine and i can acess the setup page using 192.168.0.1 How ever if i plug the modem into the router i cant acess this page or connect to the net.

the router has an IP of 192.168.0.2

Firmware Version Version 1.12 July 24 2003 is the router and the modem is the one that came with it not sure exactly cos its not plugged in.

can any 1 tell me how to get this working

shouldnt those ip's match? or am i talking bollox

my router setup is 192.168.0.1 and the router ip is also the same

first pc is 192.168.0.2, second is blablah .3

so the set up page off your modem is 192.168.0.1????

and thats also the ip of the router???

ill try that later cba messing atm :P

yes, doh, i know that :p:

But some ISPs require you to log your mac address with them.

Your router's mac address will be different to your network card's.
So if you plug your modem into your router, it will be the router's mac address which is being read, not the network card(s)'
I do hope I'm actually right, i still could be talking bs :p

RE:
