I'm making a thread here because of the UAS/SpR issue. People think it will be resolved by locking and deleting threads. The opposite is occuring, many threads are being started and the league is starting to be overshadowed by the issue. So I wanted to say a few things.

Why am I making this thread?
I'm only making this thread because every other one is closed.

Why am I using the forums?
Because I think a lot of people feel the same way about this, and it IS in the right forum. Like I said, if it isn't resolved, bad things may happen (see below). Plus you told me, if you wanna communicate to the league admins, use forums or email :P (see Point 1 below :P)

Psy, I think you're being a bit hypocritical of the situation, and for whatever reason you can't see it. Let me say a few things based on what both of us have talked about in the past.

Point 1
In the past, I thought that there were some 'common sense' rules in the league. For example, the IDC game. The email system wasn't working and you forgot the days we couldn't play because I told you on IRC. You selected a day we couldn't play and IDC won by a default. You continually told me that yes, it was common sense, but it wasn't in the rules and you had no obligion to remember the days because I gave you them on IRC. You couldn't reschedule because of the rules. Psy, removing points because of being lame on the forums isn't a league rule. It isn't listed in a rule on the StdAS rules page, nor does it give any indication of punishments thereof. I think its unfair to say that you can't 'make up rules' in one instance but in another instance (involving yourself) you can.

Point 2
You've read the recent AS-Cup post in which I got slated for doing something because of abuse I got. You said it yourself that that wasn't sensible (that I shouldn't have started). Surely you are now letting flaming get to you, and you're doing something about it. I don't see too much difference in our situations. I think if you give me advice on not "letting" the flames get to you, you seem to be reacting quite strongly to this.

Point 3
You told me a while ago that anything that happens on the forums or IRC shouldn't directly affect the league, because IRC and the forums are ran by different people essentually. This is true, correct me if I'm wrong but the forums and IRC are run by Martz, no? In any case, you told me that the forum is in essence a 'seperate entity' from the league (I wish I kept IRC logs now). So, why are you letting some posts on the forums (and you clearly say it was the POSTS that made you deduct points) affect the league, after you told me a while ago that you shouldn't take anything on the forums seriously? Seems again like you're giving advice to me and not playing to it.

And on a more personal note- the league has recently lost some of its best clans (Mi5, sixth). In my own point of view, the only very-high skilled clans left are swap and UAS (and perhaps Solid). And let's face it, swap got a lot better after they got some old-Mi5 players (not to take anything out of swap they are better than my clan right now :) and have improved). By doing this, you are pushing UAS to the point of leaving the league. I can't speak for other people in the league, but I play in the league because I want to be good, the best. I want to play the best, and beat the best. Otherwise, why would I be in a league at all? If UAS go, then one of the best clans still remaining will leave. This undermines the league. What is the point in being top of UTA when the top clans are all division 2? The top clans are an integral point of the community, and although they whine and moan sometimes :P, I dunno if I want to play in a league without UAS. I had to train my clan from the beginning (apart from a few members). They are one of the best CTF clans in Europe. They are just 'decent' Assaulters. I want to take the clan I trained and be up there with UAS. But like I said, I can't speak for others.

So, what to do? Clearly some UAS members did perhaps go over the top. Do the sensible thing, the one that makes logical sense, and abides by the rules. If you need to ban Supermic / TuT / whoever from the forums, do so. Surely this is a much more sensible conclusion than pushing a clan to make a decision to leave the league because of some non-existant rules.

Please don't flame this thread (like, I mean, please), even if I'm wrong. Just my 2 cents here, and if someone wants to delete / lock this thread, its fine with me I wont make another. Ta.

actually tbh it has nothing to do with anyone but the admins and the 2 clans involved.

Should be left like that. I can see what your trying to do Miner, but wont work.

Only UAS/SPR know the real story and with 2 sides throwing accusations. You wont ever know, best thing is to stay out of it.

And i think you saying that UAS will leave is a bit far fetched. If anything for the sake of proving PSY wrong im sure they wouldnt break up.

Again Miner, i know what your 'trying' to do. But from past experience, just leave it to the clans to deal with. Within a week this will have faded out just like all the other things.

Yeah, I wrote it then I asked myself "why am I bothering". The answer to that I still don't know :).

u know i should be in bed and so should u but im drunk so i ave an excuse /nick

Couldn't agree more. Yes maybe supermic and tut did go overboard on the forums (but mainly mic since tut quit uas a few days before his latest posts) but that was only because they felt psy was being unfair and a bad admin. One admin should not be able to deduct points from a clan unless they have broken league rules (and even then it should be discussed between all admins). Making posts on the forum is not against league rules which miner has already said, so penalising our clan in the way you did is stupid :\ Hopefully you'll realised you've over reacted and accept that you were a bit harsh and give us the point we earned back.

I agree with point that posting something on forums shouldnt have any effects on a clan, not whole clan. If you want to punish someone do that but dont hurt whole clan...
Well Miner said here few important thing..
I have to also agree with Mc, we should leave this problem betwen UAS and SpR.

First of all, if you want to communicate to the league admins, PM/mail them.

Point 1
- I didn't "forget about your dates", I just didn't count on them. I can't look up a million of IRC+ICQ logs while sorting unscheduled games.
The monthly post at league news says clearly to mail the required info.

- Go and find a forum's rules page where it says that you can't post warez/porn/virus links. Besides specific forums rules posts like Music-Films or P&S, you won't find it. Still the rule exists and it's applied. It's a matter of common sense not to post such links, just like it is having a minimum respect for the persons spending countless hours for free to organize your fun, this is, League/Forums/IRC staff.

- Noone is 'making up rules', as I've said, this is not the first time a clan gets points deducted for the same reason.

Point 2
- We're penalizing a clan, not closing the league <-- which would be like penalizing all the clans for one's actions.

Point 3
- I've never said such thing. Forums and League are run by different people, yes.
If you have a problem/question about the way forums work, contact Martz.
If you have a problem/question about the way the league works, contact a League Administrator <-- this is what some ppl don't seem to understand.

- Clans don't get any kind of special treatment on this league because of their rank in the table. Pretty certain you can understand that.

Back to the first point, there is another non-written (but widely known) rule on forums. It says that you shall not start a new thread to continue a subject of another thread previously closed. I'm afraid your thread breaks this rule, furthermore, I'm sure you knew already. You make this league a little favour by ignoring it.

If you have further questions about this (or other) issues you can find me on IRC or IQC.
