I installed UT3 on my brothers PC using my own CD key. I wanted to test his pc could run the game before he goes and buys a copy.

My problem is now, how do I change the cd key for him when he buys a copy?

de-install usually works I think,
otherwise just install the new version on your pc?:P

Its saved in the registry, should be simple enough to find it
Then it's hidden damned well, 'cause I can't find it.

Anyhow, deleting your UTEngine.ini from MyGames/UT3/UTGame/Config should do the trick.

(Or you can just remove the entry called 'EncryptedProductKey=', to keep your settings).

I'm not sure but i think UT don't keep your cd-key but a hash of it. Just look for a string of numbers and letter in your registry in records related with your UT.

Thanks guys,

Well at the moment Im not sure I buy a copy, UT3 is a little jerky for my brother.

But I know wish had a similar system so he sent me his config files which reset the CDKEY, so if I buy a copy I will simply do that. I think subz suggested that.
