Assault Legendary

A long awaited and promised movie has finally become a reality.
2 years have passed since the beginning of this project.
After losing all of the progress in a complete harddisc failure,
I decided to restart on this project and do it even better then what previously had been made and then lost.

Presenting the UTAssault.net community and a total of 16 players of its players.
This movie contains some of the finest moments by these 16 players of their last +/- 2 years in UT1 assault gaming.
Containing a wide variety of footage, from mid air rockets, mid air flacks, hammer saves, insane combo's
to the sickest ever seen sniping footage.

Most of which are, close saves, runs getting objectives or team covering!
Ofcourse an assault only movie is not complete without the humour, funny moments and just plain assault traits!
Also expect to see some laming, camping, spamming, noob killing, some "i cant hit anything" moments and last but not least, sneaking footage!

With that being said, the movie is at a resolution of 1280x720 at 40fps in both mp4 as well as good old xvid quality.
Something to suit all needs for playback as well as being viewable online in good quality streaming.
Even non UT1 players and non assault players will be able to enjoy this movie.
Yet to fully understand all footage, some knowledge of assault is required. (most clips have objective flags included though)

A big and massive thanks goes out to ALL the players that send in their demos, even if you didn't made the final cut.
It took me 1.5 years to even get all the demos that I needed for the movie together duo to most of the people in assault community being lazy bums and not renaming their demos!
A lot of effort went into this movie, mostly in the sense of having 8 UT's in total for movie making (god what a buggie game!) (of which in the end only 1 kept working..) and complete starting over after 6 months of hard work!

Massive thanks to W1z4, subz`, bamse and auri for helping me out in one way or another with the quality settings!!
Also a massive thanks to my big brother Basement for helping me get rid of footage bugs and adjusting the sound settings!
Third massive thanks to the servers who are hosting my movie and the respected music artists.

People with playback issues pay attention, this is for you!
You need three things to be able to playback the movie file on your pc.
1) ffdshow
2) matroska splitter
3) vlc or media player classic

Where can u find these files?

If U have still problems with playback of the file then it is possible that it is simply too heavy for your PC. There is a possibility for me to make an Xvid version, but I really dont have a good compression for it so I will only do this if there is a real need! Meantime, there is always the streaming that should work for everyone!

Watched it last night and as you know I really enjoyed it.

Quality was fine, length was just right and the different variation of frags throughout made it enjoyable.

Just a shame we had a mix up with my demos and some of my best ones didn't end up in it :( Nethertheless, one i'll be keeping on my hd

decent ftp - went at around 1.3 meg/sec

Nice movie too, some nice lil sequences and the editing was really good tbh.. don't think you went too far with the fancy effects - just about right :D

No launches/tricks/anything about assault except frags...
Quite some nice frags though.

The contrast gives me a headache. :( Though some really nice effects with the text and such. Also nice job on using hi-res textures and some of the old coronas etc. :thumb:

Music was nice. Except for the WoW sound effects and /wave. I don't see how that fits in a UT movie... :o
 
nice movie, enjoyed it a lot, although i always had to look in the upper right corner to see who's playin atm :D

I dont know what u mean by this lol! I used sounds from ut1 and 2k3/2k4 and ingame sound only.

- The biggest challange for me all throughout the project was actually getting the footage for the movie, that is why it took me 2 years to make it also.. Took me 2 years to get all the footage that is in the movie LOL! I tell you and anti noticed this too when he made the 2 community movies, getting content (aka demos) from assault people, really, what a fucked up job that is LOL. Still, I am pretty happy with all the footage in the movie myself, really happy with everyone's help!! :D

Big thumbs up for everyone that participated in one way or another in the realisation for this project!!
 
For a frag movie it was good, bit sniperdotcom (but we can expect that from 95% of ut movies because its the easiest way to make a sequence)

still waiting for something like UC's insta movie, which had teamplay written over it rather then frags, and you wouldn't expect that from a instagib movie. Anyway good effort
 
It was a nice movie. It's probably the best one I've seen since mi5 v swap movie, but I don't watch many. Just out of interest where can you get the mi5 v swap movie? Not seen it for time !
