Signup - you sign up for your country in the forum here: >>Click Me<<, follow the instructions on that page. We do not, and will not tolerate players who sign up and later do not show for the matches, please do not sign up if you are not going to show up, if you sign up and later cannot be available for the tournament - let an admin know so we can find a replacement!!! The reason for this is that forfeits wins add nothing to the tournament, and spoil the mood of the tournament, this is why we want only genuinely interested players.

Other countries can participate in the tournament, the only requirement is that you have 6 active players. Email an IAC admin if you can bring a new team to the cup. Please keep in mind that most servers will be European. If you can provide a non-European server please contact cup staff.
    Please Read The Teams Section!!!
  6. Basic Rules
Match format is 5 players per team, LeagueAS140 Running, Weapon Stay On, Maps Pre-picked by each team.

No other mutators are to be used during a match without prior sanction of the Cup Administration.
Each team in each Country may have a maximum of 11 players. See section 14 for more about teams.

Spectators are not permitted in Cup Matches (with the exception of Cup Staff).

    Behaviour:
Abusive behaviour towards Cup Admins will result in punishment for the whole team, not just the abusive player.
Strictly no abuse towards other countries simply because they are from 'another country'. E.g. “Nazi”. I cannot emphasise this rule enough - do it and you play the rest of the match a player down. Absolutely no racism or Naziism will be tolerated. If you are caught participating in behaviour infractions a punishment will be given accordingly.
Each player is generally given 2 chances for bad behaviour during the entire IAC, first time is a yellow card , bad behaviour again and its a red (which means you're kicked out the cup). If a player does extremely bad behaviour the administration team can issue an immediate red card .

The UTA auth system will be used where possible.
Mercing will not be allowed under any circumstances.
A Player can only play for 1 team, even if you have multiple teams per country.. Multi-clanning and/or multi-accounting may result in an immediate ban for any and all teams and players involved at the discretion of cup administration.
  7. Group Stages -> 7.1 Scoring -> 7.2 Qualification
Each match must be played over 14 maps. Matches may be played over two 14-map legs if chosen. Each team has the option of home server.

Each team chooses 7 maps from the assigned map list. You may only pick Asthenosphere or AsthenosphereAL, Oceanfloor or OceanfloorAL - you may not pick both!
You must decide before you play which maps you choose. (at least 48 Hours Prior to the game)
Group Matches can end in a tie. If the score is level after having played 14 maps (7 maps each) the result is a tie.

There will be approximately 5 teams per group, although this can change to 4 in some groups.
You Play each team in your group only once.
    • 7.1 Scoring

      • Win = 3 Points
      • Tie = 1 Point
      • Lose = 0 Point
    • 7.2 Qualification

The top 2 teams will qualify, if it’s a tie between 2 or more teams, the results between the teams will determine the order - regardless of the map difference. If that’s still a tie then the team with the best “map difference” will qualify. If its still a tie then the team with the highest map wins qualifies, and if still a tie a further match may be needed to separate the teams. Map Difference: will be determined by the amount of maps a team has won minus the maps lost. A Forfeit will be considered 8-0.
  8. Knockout Stages
Each match must be played over 14 maps. Each team chooses 7 maps from the League map list. You may only pick Asthenosphere or AsthenosphereAL, Oceanfloor or OceanfloorAL - you may not pick both! The match is finished when one of the teams can no longer tie.

You must decide before you play which maps you choose. (at least 48 Hours Prior to the game)

Important: During the knockout stage you play 2 matches, one match is at home, the other match is away. In a home match you pick the server, in an away match your opponent picks the server. Please see Servers for more details The team who scored more points during the group stage gets to choose if they want to start home or away first. If both teams had the same points at the end of group qualification the team with the best map difference gets to choose. Otherwise an administrator will flip a coin.

The results of the two matches are added up and the team with the highest score wins. You cannot tie a Knockout match. If it’s tie after the maps are added, each team picks a map in turn (that they haven’t already picked - the maps will be played on the server you are currently playing on) until there is a winner by 2 CLEAR maps OR if 1 team wins their map and ties the opponents map (see this post as an example: http://forums.utassault.net/showpost.php?p=1111963 ). You may not pick Guardia or Asthenosphere in tie break situations, AL Versions are ok. (The reason for this is if 1 team wins a map then all they have to do is pick Guardia to tie the next map - which means they will win)
UTV will be used in these matches if we have the required resources.
  9. General Rules -> 9.1 Demos
Matches must be played on an IAC-approved server. Matches may be played on any standard configuration UT Server, running League Assault version 140 or greater.
All matches must be played before out posted last date (more information nearer to the start of the tournament) or admin will decide upon an outcome.
    • 9.1 Demos

One player from each team will please demo every match. If someone is suspected of cheating they may be asked to make a demo. Any demo recorded may be requested by admin staff for review at any point in time up to two weeks after match in question is played. Demos must be kept for this period unless specifically noted otherwise.
Demo’s are always appreciated as contributions towards an IAC 2007 Assault Movie.
  10. Scheduling Matches
It is the team captain’s responsibility to schedule matches with other team captains, the schedule information must be entered in the cup page (more information nearer the tournament) and confirmed by both team captains. Results must also be entered and confirmed by both teams on the cup web page.
  11. Gameplay
Do not spam the console with taunts or text, the other team may need to use the teamsay to discuss tactics or exchange information. You may use League Assault's Mute commands to stop this interfering with your play. If spamming of the console via text or taunt binds becomes a problem for the other team, players may be given a warning from cup staff.

The use of lag slide exploits, physical taunt bindings, aim-bots, radars, hooks, item timers or any other kind of cheat is strictly prohibited.

Making use of any map specific bug (known or unknown) which prevents the attackers from completing the map or the defenders from effectively defending the map is prohibited.

    Skins:
The use of hacked skins, mixed skins or any kind of other non standard UT skin that has not been permitted by the league is forbidden.
Strictly No Bonus pack skins, Nali, Warcow etc

    ALL Rules subject to change!
  12. Server Settings
Matches can be played on any agreed server on the Official servers list (or any other agreed clan server) with the following settings:

    LeagueAS 140+
    Anti-Hammerlaunch Mutator OFF
    LeagueAS Map Voting OFF
    Max Players 12
    Tournament Mode ON
    Match Mode ON
    Password Protected
No spectator slots (unless requested by admin)
    Tickrate must be between 20-28
    0% Friendly Fire
    League Assault TIW: Enabled

If you cannot agree on any server, then you must agree on one of the official servers below. If you still cannot agree you must inform an admin who will choose a server which is deemed fairest.

    Official Servers:

    UTA League
    • League Server #1 (nl)
    • League Server #2 (nl)
    • League Server #4 (nl)
    • League Server #6 (uk)
    • League Server #7 (de)
    • League Server #8 (nl)

    IAC Endorsed
    • IAC #1 - US (us)
    • IAC #2 - Swe (swe)

    Clan Approved
    • (-8-) Server (uk)

You can add a server to this list as long as the server is setup correctly (including UTA Auth) and the server is stable, please e-mail an IAC admin to get your server on the official list.
  13. Teams
Each country should assign enough teams so that everyone who signed up can play. If you do not do this we will do it for you.
E.g. Team England = 30 Players, divide it equally = 10 players per team
E.g. Team Sweden = 18 Players, divide it equally = 9 players per team

Team XXX = 14 Players - if you get a situation like this or similar, it is up to the country in question to discuss in the team private forums whether they want 2 teams with 7 players each or 1 team with 14 players (even tho the maximum players is 11 as default, exceptions can be made in situations like this).

A Country must have a minimum of 6 players.

A Country can either have 2/3 balanced teams, or have Team 1 as the best, team 2 as the next best, team 3 as the third best etc. You cannot put all your best players in Team 3, as the group tables will be unbalanced.

Team captains can pick whoever they want from their country but, Maximum 3 players from 1 clan can be fielded at 1 time in the group stages (you can shuffle players around during the match but can only have 3 people from 1 clan at a time). This should give all the smaller nations a better chance to qualify from the group stage
After the group stage the restriction will be lifted as all teams should have built up enough experience to compete for the championship. And we want to find out who truly is the best nation.
Overall I think this is the best solution for everyone.
So a note to potential team captains, if you plan to pick a lot of players from the same clan bare in mind you will have to pick at least 2 players that are not from the same clan. If any team captain doesn’t understand this rule please contact an IAC admin ASAP.

This rule only applies to countries with multiple teams and does not apply to countries who have only 1 team. In other words: This rule is not allowed to exclude any countries from playing in the cup or fielding a team. If you are concerned that this rule may hinder your country's ability to form a competitive team please contact Smantie immediately and you may be approved to be exempt from this rule at the admin's discretion..

All rules are subject to change at the notice of IAC admin staff
