Another thread has mentioned S.W.A.T. sound track. This got me thinking....

What are your favourite soundtracks?

I'm currently playing 3 soundtrack CDs.
"Amelie", "O Brother, Where Art Thou" and "The Matrix" (first one!)

My musical tastes and favourites change daily depending on my mood but currently my fave soundtack has to go to "O Brother, Where Art Thou"

previous ones I would mention (and must have forgotten many)...


  • any Peter Greenway Film (Michael Nyman is sheer class)
  • Sid and Nancy (Haunted by Shane MacGowan is class)
  • Northern Exposure (hmm TV prog, but I suppose that counts...)
  • Repo man

will try and trhink of some more....

my fav of all time prolly one from Blade Runner....relaxin, atmospheric and sexy cos i think of the replicant babe....think im in love with her actually :/

last of mohicans and lotr must be up there too i guess :D

Shawshank redemption sound track is amazing

Basically allmost anything by Thomas Newman is good tho like:
American Beauty
erin brocovich
6 feet under ..
the green mile

Dances with wolves, you only Live twice, and OHMSS bond themes by John Barry ..

But Anything by John Barry is amazing tbh he is the Orchestration GOD

Empire for the sun by John williams is fantastic aswell Cadalac for the sky is just ....OMG

Blade runner is great

Oceans Eleven David Holmns is excelent

Alien is one of the best and most spacious orchestral peices even writen

Bullet Lalo shifren is one of my favs aswell

Amelie i want to see this film .. its supposed to be excelent .. theres one film before it by the same director that supposed to be great aswell.. "The City of Lost Children"
i just have never come across it in the video store ;/

love it when one band does all/most the music for a film, one of the best examples of this is young guns 2 even though normaly i cant stand bon jovi, it rules when used in this film.
Been a few other films like this but drawing a blank atm of any others (though i know ill kick myself when i do)

american pie 2 sndtrk was good, I liked the High Fidelity one too and of course Top Gun that's already been mentioned ;)

Oooooooooooooh deffinitly the OST from Pirates of the Caribbean

2nd = Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
3rd = Requiem For a Dream

closely followed by the soundtrack of The Return of the King
 
well... lots of different here.... how come no1 has said the correct title of the blade theme yet?

Marilyn Manson - This is the new shit (from Matrix Reloaded)
well... i have 2 say LOTR films have great music, but i havn't got any of cds yet, just heard some of it in the movies...
