You dont wanna buy a Quadcore because a 10 years old game called UT possibly wont run as you are used to?
First of all: UT is old, way behind the age and doesnt run good with newish graphic cards, under Vista and doesnt even run under Windows 7 Beta at all.
So the problem is not the hardware, it's a game that was developed for WIndows98, Pentium3 processors and Voodoo cards.
So this outdated "thing" shouldnt be a valid point taking in consideration when buying a new system. Sooner or later it wont run anyway.
Get a quad, in few years you'll be glad you got that. Dont invest money in an dieing socket 775.
