problem saving images

hi, when I try to save an image 80% of the time i can only save it as a bmp file. But when i look in the properties of the image it clearly says .jpg
When i try to save it it turns into a .bmp and the size is always 2.25mb
Anyone else has this problem. I think its a bug, but how can I fix this.

OS: winXP with IE 6

Im assuming this is saving images from IE, if it saves as untitled.bmp even tho its namehere.jpg then you need to clear your temporary internet files.

Tools/internet options/general/delete files

You should then get your jpg filenames back

in the save image dialog, if you select the image of the name as "name.jpg" (with the quotas), then it should save it as a jpg

Wow I also encountered this annoying bug sometimes... Didnt know that this would fix it...

just limit ur cache size to 8mb or something, cache is useless anyway

that would mean i have to empty it more often because it will get full much sooner.
now my cashe is set to 1185 mb
