PDA's and movies

I use a Dell Axim (X51 520 Mhz) mainly for work and wonder if I can play movies on it. Would be good if I can rip movies that I already own on DVD and compress them onto flash cards and play them on the PDA. Can it be done? How specifically?

Yes it can be done, but it will depend on the size on your memory, of course. I have had simpson series on my PDA a while ago.


Just connect the PDA to your pc and transfer the movie file. For mpeg/mpg files the built in media player should be enough. Otherwise, you'll have to find some other free player.

ofcourse you have to compress it quite a bit depending on the size of your memory

there are some apps that do that automatically

I use this proggie to rip movies to my pda and cellphone, works really nice
