i got a GeForce 4 MX 440... i wanna use openGL, how do i use it?
i got it on Video settings allready to OpenGL, but i see settings everywhere? like at User.ini Thread . can sum1 explain how i change settings and where i change them?

Use the "Unreal Tournament Safe mode" executable.....you'll enter the 4-optioned-menu.....
choose "Change your 3D video device"
in there...be sure to check "Show all devices"
then select openGL support

you prolly do want a edited/optimized openGL driver (in ur UT/system)
ben ff kwijt waar je die halen kan :)

your best bet is to search out a forum user called paa` he tends to know alot about openGL stuff ...amongst other things ...
hes a little highly strung but he will no doubt be able to help u out and get the best performance from your openGL .. tho a gforce4 440 should run D3D very nicly in UT ..

That OGL umod installer is an old version. Maybe it looks different to the newer OGL drivers?

"Updates OpenGLDrv.dll file to the latest version released by EPIC on Sep 6, 2002 - by Daniel Vogel."

check the link in my last post for the latest (June 03)

Yes i gave him that link cause the other one ( mindspring ) takes a little time to setup and the only useful option is onexblending u should get near enough same performance from both renderers

I have a problem with using Opengl. When i shut down/minimize my UT it tends to crash my pc and the only thing i see is my cursor and the UT page.
I just began to use Opengl settings,
i have dl the latest dll file,
have copy-pasted these settings in my unrealtournament.ini :

As u can see i have an ATI radeon 8500 graphic chipset.
My monitor works on 100Hz
Desktop: resolution 1024x768
frequency:100Hz
32-bit colors

My UT runs fine with OpenGl though, it stays at the 100 refreshrate and i move smoother in the game.
Can someone help me out with this problem?

p.s. i have no UT-cd

the best way to begin using opengl is not to copy and paste stuff into yout ut.ini, but to make UT generate the options itself. If you do it like that then the safe default options will be made that will work with any card.

For first use, running in safe mode *should* (but not always) make the settings, or rename/move/delete your ut.ini will do it if safe mode dont work but you will lose favs and some other stuff you can copy back later.

Then go in adavnced options by typing preferences in console and make changes to what you want, and what you *know* your card can handle

BTW did u change anything [Engine.Engine] section?
