The lads at guru3d.com have done a test of all the rather up-to-date detonators that there are, going from 27.00 to the latest 40.72 beta-drivers. They used the UT2003 Demo, 3DMark2001 and Q3:Arena for benchmarking.
You can see that the latest drivers are good for Nvidia's marketing, but not necessarily for the gamers.
