Yup, especially since we have remote link protection on attached images and avatars :P

the img tag also doesnt work with adresses to these images. Is it because they contain no image file extension ?

Is this normal?

[QUOTE='//3iRd(o)]That's called a cache Lex.[/QUOTE]
I always use Opera... I c/p the location of an avatar and went to IE to load it.
Are you telling me Cache works between 2 different browsers?
Also tried in Opera itself opening an avatar in a new window AND reloading it... can still see the pic.

So far whatever I try it keeps showing the avatars.. it hasn't been blocked once.

Thats not remote linking (hotlinking) - thats loading a URL in a browser.

Hotlinking is when you use our images/avatars etc in a remote web page, such as a forum etc.

Try this on your website and you'll see:
Code:
<img src='http://forums.utassault.net/attachment.php?attachmentid=19787&stc=1&d=1128611205' />
<img src='http://forums.utassault.net/image.php?u=1389&dateline=1110746617' />
You may see the images when you load the page, however that is the caching issue Timo was refering too. A hard refresh will show the images as broken.

Alternatives are to show a custom image with "No remote linking" etc. But since we are trying to stop bandwidth theft - theres no point serving any image at all.

I cant remember how often ive read the sidenote "cp URl into browser" in chit chat. cant see how it would work differently with url from this forum.
