As some of you will have already noticed, the UK pings to the Gothica.nl servers (including utaserver #2) have gone rather crap over the last few days (about a week already actually, I fear). It's about obvious to me that our dedicated link to the UK has either gone crap, or isn't working at all atm. :(
This sucks big time, for both you all as players, as it suck for us, because we get complaints about them (damn right you guys are with that one btw). :D
Problem at this time is that the :wanker: 's who 'can' get this fixed are about as capable to do so as a :bunny: , so they actually need the literal traceroute info, so they no where they have to be to get things fixed (talk about bad practice :mad: ).
I asked for traceroutes in #utassault, but didn't get to much out of that, so this thread to get you guys going :o , the sooner this thing gets fixed, the better, for both of us.

It would really speed up the process to get lot's of information. So please all post your UK traceroutes (use uta.gothica.nl, since it accepts traces and please don't include the -d tag in the command) either in this topic or by mailing them to [email protected].

Hopefully it will save me from :fight: and :throw: and maybe even stop me to pay them a visit in my shiny :tank:

looks ok to me, but i did have a problem with MoDs server thats also dutch i was pinging 90 in a 1v1. maybe ur not alone:P

Your f1 should be fine i have a stupidly high f6 but i hit as if i have a normal ping its weird on fdc serv, running from the gothica nl box my f1 is like 50 my f6 150-180, strange

I'ld like to thank you guys alot sofar, (don't stop now :D ) this is indeed usefull information.

I like the overall pings/traces, seems this are getting back to normal.

Some points I'ld like to point out :

-Protocol : Well, what can I say. You either use a misconfigured router, an analog/isdn dialup line or your conn is crap. Those pings are sick from hop #1, and stay stable until the server itself, so this is a good trace actually :)

-jwer : It's been a thing of the last few days. One of c0's members just noted that it seems to be worse during the evening, so it could actaully be they fixed it (had a phonecall with the people in chrage today anyway, they're investigation as I type :P)

-Skullsquasher : both .154 (#2) and .152 (fdc) are physically the same server. If you could post the trace to .152 with hostnames and using trace iso pings for it, it could be intresting to see if it actually differs (last hop will never be reached, only .154 accepts traceroute.)

Overall notice :

Don't use traceroute using ping-trace. The server are configured to drop 1 out of 3 pings that arive with 1 second, so in that case you indeed get either packetloss or 200+ ms on 1 ping ;P

l:Dl you dumbass we not with gothica :P so why talk abt it here.

Anywayz when smurfs tested it he had ping 60 this was before 2004, you on the same compu as him right x-b ;o.
And now you tested server is 2004.
So yeh it can be the routing that changed probably during old/new year?

i know ur not gothica but ur server is dutch, i was suggesting maybe some routing has fucked up from uk to netherlands, when i tested ur server b4 it was ok, when i pld saus in a 1v1 yday it was crap, ping trace 2day suggests its normal and so is the gothica server, maybe the problems fixed?
