few other settings for people

[Engine.Engine]
GameRenderDevice=OpenGLDrv.OpenGLRenderDevice <-- need's to be set to enable opengl.

SlowVideoBuffering=False <-- set this to false almost always unless u know it is the cause of a problem.

CurvedSurfaces=False <-- set to true for much much better looking Models ( skins ) in UT. Large performance hit.

LowDetailTextures=False <-- really in need of performance set to true

MinDesiredFrameRate=999.000000 <-- pretty much what it says 0 = best possible graphic rendering/details

hmm I have sum trubbel with opengl with the cat 4.2 driver.. it gets VERY dark nuffing happens when I move the brightness slider..

Code:
 [u]Latest news
[/u]ATI seems to have broken some aspects of hardware gamma ramp support even more in their 4.2 drivers.

from http://cwdohnal.home.mindspring.com/utglr/ :( using d3d atm looks shit and get shitty fps around 60 fs when I get around 250 avg with open gl

yeh with catalyst drivers gamma is fucked in UT u need to change resolution then back to ur current then try setting gamma it works for now ati know about it and will hopefulyl fix it for next catalyst release.

ye can also get catalyst 4.1 or lower they work fine
had the same prob om me radeon 9800 pro that it was dark so i just switched back to 4.1

Not exactly hard just looked at 2 websites and emailed the guy who makes the ogl renderer a couple of times.

Was just passing it on so others could fix any problems they had.

opengl deffo looks better, and seems to perform quite nicely.. however im getting strange artifacts or something, im pretty sure its not my card causing it.. and i do remember having them with opengl b4..

any ideas?

That's because there for high performance lol u cant have it looking great and maximum performance looking at your pc u should use mid or high quality settings dont see why performance is needed :)

WTF! this is all i have in engine.engine

[Engine.Engine]
GameRenderDevice=D3DDrv.D3DRenderDevice
AudioDevice=Galaxy.GalaxyAudioSubsystem
NetworkDevice=IpDrv.TcpNetDriver
DemoRecordingDevice=Engine.DemoRecDriver
Console=UTMenu.UTConsole
Language=int
GameEngine=Engine.GameEngine
EditorEngine=Editor.EditorEngine
WindowedRenderDevice=SoftDrv.SoftwareRenderDevice
RenderDevice=GlideDrv.GlideRenderDevice
DefaultGame=Botpack.DeathMatchPlus
DefaultServerGame=Botpack.DeathMatchPlus
ViewportManager=WinDrv.WindowsClient
Render=Render.Render
Input=Engine.Input
Canvas=Engine.Canvas
CdPath=J:
RunCount=92

I also have a problem which means I cant run UT in a windowed mode, if i do and touch any other proggie i will have two mousecursors in the menues (of which only one works of course):P and in game i have a mousecursor that moves as I move the mouse. Can this be related and/or does anyone have a fix?

Thx paa`:)
Works like a charm....those who complains bout it's too bright, is that from spotlights and lamps?
If so just set "Coronas=True" to False :P
