...a short journey into the history of the ]>BO<[ team !
BO was born in January 2000 after Mournblade and me got tired of ={nTe}=, a french clan who
is famous for its inactivity (they never ever played a clan war). Since we were only two we
weren't a real clan but just a tag, so /{=B|Lohengrin|O=}\ and /{=B|Mournblade|O=}\ were born.
We used to be CTF Players but we wanted to try all the gamestyles offered by UT, Mournblade
choosed Assault and I choosed Domination. Some months passed and our school friend Kil'Jaiden
got a connection (56k!) and joined. Mournblade then made our very first Homepage and BO entered ClanBase.
It quickly became appearent that three Members where too few! Since our favorite server was
Demon NL Custom Maps we decided to recruit there. The first player we asked was Buis who
was famous for his Skaarj tail and for using the walk key when attacking. Buis answered
"sure" and we got our very 1st Member, yeehaw!!! After talking with Buis on ICQ he turned
out to be a really cool guy, which is a keyelement for joining BO.
Quickly we played our 1st war against -=AA=-, an American DOM clan. We didn't know that
American Servers suck for European Players (doh!) and we got crushed in a pure lag war.
But anyway this was a big step that many French Clans never passed: we played a war!!!
Next Player was Qbot who was a very cool Member, too (he even began to write some tactics)
but unfortunately his connection was crappy (the only time we saw him with a ping of 100
he just ruled, we never expected him to be so good). Next Member was probably DIEU,
my domination favorite Partner and definitly one of the best French DM'ers. DIEU bring our
DOM team to another level and we began to win some wars (the TuF-BO with Lohengrin, Mournblade,
Kil'Jaiden and DIEU at Cryptic was just great).
To play Assault we needed Players and after talking with Buis and Qbot some names appeared
like Goingin and LordAndrew. We tried to get them both but Goingin was way easier to communicate
with and he quickly became a pillar in the BO team and was very important for some
troubled periods we had later (one thing: I think Goingin never liked our old tag).
We got our 3rd Dutch but not for long. Quickly after Goingin joined Qbot leaved due to his
connection and very soon Buis moved to a place without a connection too. That was very hard
for the team and Mournblade was near to give the Clan up. We then recruited Ninja Star but
he was really too weird and he was "retired" after 2-3 days and then we got... Spyro.
He has to be the weirdest Member we ever had but damn he was good, even Mournblade seems like
a newbie in comparasion! The Team won against BHS (one of the best DOM team) with Spyro as
unstoppable, followed some more wins due to Spyro's skill. We recruited SQ just after the
BHS war, he played CTF InstaGib with an other Clan but got interrested while playing DOM with us.
SQ skills in DOM were famous and the Team got even better, plus SQ is a really nice
man, the last person who will whine in a war.
We keept playing on Demon NL and Goingin proposed to recruit NeoCron. We tried to contact him
by mail but we were quite unsuccessful. At the same time we decided to recruit Killer420
(a very good tricks whore but unfortunately American) and Towanda. We didn't know it at first but
recruiting Towanda was probably the best idea Goingin ever had. Towanda really regave life
to the Clan, 1st he bring this famous NeoCron to the Clan who makes our tactics now (even
if they're not ever followed) and second Towanda became the real Clan Organisator
(Mournblade was too lazy to do it).
We continued to play on Demon NL Custom Maps and we recruited Spyro's cousin Bobba Fett who
was really good at snipering. Unfortunatly our strange fragmaster Spyro got mad at NeoCron and
Killer420 accusing one to cheat and the other to be a fag. We kicked Spyro and Bobba Fett which was
very hard but the Clan was more cool after that. Quickly after that a very silly tag contest
was started and the victory fell on Goingin's tag ]>BO<[.
Playing on Customs (and even sometimes on standard maps) we regularly met <SiK>EXCALiBUR,
famous to whine at any jumper or dufus who don't share ammo. <SiK>EXCALiBUR was good and with his
friendly attitude he was quickly added to our ICQ lists etc... Finally one day thePROPHET!
appeared (who the hell is he anyway???) He quickly took over the Webmaster task from Mournblade
and he turned out to be waaaay better!
We had an Assault Team so we joined the UTAssault.net League (we tried ClanBase and we got crushed
2 time 7-0 by [.se], who are a really nice Clan but too good for us. They actually had teamplay
and a lot of weird tricks like destroying the Frigate´s compressor with the ripper).
Our first war was against DWAP, a lame clan who put Killer420 in their Lamerz Gallery. Really
we didn't like them too much. It took about 2 wars before we started to understand that they
were a real nice bunch of guys and the most fair Clan possible to find in UTAssault.net
Mournblades's brother soon joined the clan as Stormbringer and our DOM Team was invincible!
We won 12 war in a row and finally losing against Mc because of our dear lamer Kil'Jaiden
who find funny to leave us to play some of the best DOM'ers at 4vs5. Anyway we beat Mc in
our homemap and won the League 2pts better than Mc.
]>BO<[ won a League with all the best European DOM Teams! Anyway our Assault result stay medium,
mostly because of our inexperience on normal maps
(also we reject some League rules such as spawncamping and mercs).
