Right, as the title suggest, I am reviving Konnan's Assault Speed Run records. I think he used to have a website and afaik most of his clips are also on Youtube. Look for yourself if you wish to copy or get ideas.

Anyway....

Just a bit of fun really and if you aren't interested then lets not make a stupid post about how a) UT is dead b) Speed Runs are pointless c) other pointless additions made by idiots who have nothing better to do that scour the internet all day.

Rules are:
  • Screenshot must be supplied with your entry and the first thread will be updated with verified results.
  • Once verified, you can remove your screenshot to save space. You an either upload or send to me via pm/irc.
  • Try not to frogjump, most can't do it and a little tweak in your ini isn't gonna impress many people to be frank.
  • Can be done offline, this isn't a serious competition, just a bit of fun that anyone can play along with.
  • New Rule: LAS140 must be used and selected when going for a record

Any other map suggestions, let me know. Maps such as Guardia and barely changed SE maps are pretty limited so have been omitted, if you would like a map to be added or tested, please specifiy which map and myself and Timo can sort out the quick link and correct version!

I suggest maps where torp doesnt use a shock rifle to b0ng himself half way across the map.

That aside it's a nice idea - what else is there to do?
 
Once your record appears in the list after you have posted a screen shot or O have seen a screenshot via PM or IRC then please edit and remove your screenshot and put "Verified" followed by the map name and time. :D
 
re: I know I'm admin in some but please trust me I had no cheats etc. I had admin because this was the time I was writing my UT guide and I would have an auto login thing so that I could spawn rippers, boots, etc to learn tricks easier. If you need offline, unadmin demos I'll do em again if I care enough :P

EDIT: Torp says mine are 'not rapid', so I'll just sit back and wait for him to beat all of them :smug:

Heh, based on past record runs they weren't faster but I trust Useless anyway. Only thing I wasn;t sure of was they were oldish rec's, so as long as they're done after 2006 it is OK.

Examples of uploads are there. Easy to do and will be verified ASAP!

Remember, it's only a bit of a fun!
 
I like the idea of speedruns, there's lots of competition to get maps done that 1 second quicker..

2 things; I think people should demo any speed run, so that if requested they can upload it to stop any controversy.

Also why is this thread in chit chat? Should be in the UT sub forum I think!

Sucks that it takes underground doors switch 55 secs to enable :\
edit: dunno why it doesn't take 55 secs for underground switch to enable for hellow tbh :s
