I was rather unimpressed with Patriot Games, *nearly* walked out of Sum Of All Fears, and the same has been the case with almost all books I have read before the film
Exceptions have been Interview With the Vampire with the Vampire, coz I read that after seeing the film, and I have heard what "they" have done to Queen of the Damed (and thereby The Vampire Lestat)
And one MAJOR exception - I *love* what Peter Jackson has done to Lord of the Rings
