pro-as league match: os vs 24

hi,

we (os) had a pro match the on the 22nd http://forums.utassault.net/showthread.php?t=107354

i joined the server on time to find no one on it, so i told my clanmates that 24 wasnt there and therefore no need for them to join the server...
i didnt feel like playing the server 1vs0 for 8 maps so i left the server as 24 seemed to forfeit. i watched the server for a bit to confirm no one of 24 was there and then i rejoined the server to play the score to 1-0.

obviously some member of 24 joined the team sometime later (whos got admin access) and made it 2-1 for 24.
as i do have better things to do, i didnt notice that change.

nrg submitted 1-0 for us as a forfeit but some admin made it 8-0 to 24 without even notifying us...
24 was more than late on the server
i d like to have some clarification please.

Noone from 24 was on server, than we say 1 man (fire) go and play 1 map. Than a funny 24 player comes, login as admin, and now look log file:

first 1:0 for os

than

2:1 for os, than i read and read and see 1:2 for 24 WTF man ?
i submit score 1:0

and u enter score 8:0 for 24 was up man ? u think u admin and can to what u want ?

How can you submit 1-0 forfeit? I always told my clan when I was a leader that if the other team is a no show then we play it to 8-0 or I try to find an admin to end the match, if you leave the server with the match still running then you accept that risk that someone might show up and win the matchunless youve got an agreement aranged.

Someone from os showed up in warmup and left.
Someone from 24 showed up during first half of first map and left.
So far I assume both teams think the other is a no show
Someone from os shows up and wins 1 map and leaves
Someone from 24 shows up next map, wins 1 map, and completes the attack on another and leaves
Admin logs in the map after, at least another 4 maps are played without anyone from either team joining

Unfortunately there is a bug in scoring when the server is empty, although 24 completed the map and os then obviously didnt attack it for some reason awarded the point to os, this was incorrect.
The only reason I know about this match was someone reporting the scoring bug to me!

Simple rule is: You cant leave a server while a match is still running and assume youve won it.

Score should have been submitted at 2-1 to 24 really rather than a 8-0 forfeit, but end result is still the same

no, the thing is that we were there on time, and 24 didnt show. one member of 24 checked 16 mins late if some1 was there... well yeah i got better things to do than waiting and playing with myself and my mates on an emtpy server. everybody would do that.

It looks like the score was adjusted or it is another bug.

Why none of the Clan Leader, Squad Leader, Squad Match Arranger submitted themself remains unclear.

I suggest that everyone that was involved can partake and name what exactly happened.

Until that is all known the actual score will be the valid match result.

You didnt even stay for the start of the match, someone from os was there for the warmup and then left. Sometimes a team is slightly late, not even waiting the whole length of the warmup is a stupid thing to do. Ive always shutdown matches when requested but Ive also told the team that turned up that they should wait 1 or 2 maps minimum (depending on length of map).
Although its not my decision, I would say you just learnt the hard way what not to do when you 'think' the other team is a no show.
Next time play a few maps and ask an admin to confirm its a no show, I know for a fact there were at least 3 ppl online at this time that could have done that for you.

We actually had players available for the game. But yes, we were late and when we checked there was no player from os on the server so we couldn't bother to join. Some minutes later we noticed that any os player joined obviously just to sneak a map to gain a free win. You didn't even try to get in contact with us! And maybe it was because we tried the whole month to schedule this match but you refused every possible date Maxiz' suggested that we just did the same as you did -> jump in server, get 2 free maps and leave again

the admin that joined just fixed the map score bug btw

oh yeah... we didnt contact you. is it now our duty to summon a team for 24? so you coulnt be bothered to join, whos we btw? when i checked ur irc chan it was just u who was there. so i didnt bother to ask. useless himself states that he didnt even know about this match, what chances are there that anyone else knew about it?
if i was late for a match respectively had no team larger than 1 player i d try to contact the other clan because it surely would assume it was a forfeit.
we tried to sneak a win, right... i joined the server just to set a mark that we actually were there for which actually no real necessity existed but anyway

I've been asking for nrg so many times (which you should know fiyah, as you told me to simply 'wait') - Eventually I got fed up and asked for adminbooking when nrg just failed to even show any interest in booking the game. We didn't know about the specific game until the very same night and we HAD players available though we were running a bit late so to me this is just a stupid mix-up and solely blaming {24} for you misfortune is just silly.

oh ok, when i said that i had checked useless' very last match was on the 15th so i thought he d know about this one, too but u i guess u re right because his 2nd last was in october.
well yeah i heard the booking was a mess, nrg was very busy working to get done before christmas. i even icq'ed him when u were on irc but he didnt reply to me either, sry about that.
also, sry m8 but i wasnt actually trying to solely blame 24 for this mess - shit happened on both sides. i would have stayed longer on the server, if my UT wouldnt crash, every time i minimize it. so i observed the server from the uta site. a bit later nrg asked me to run a map and get this over with, so i did.
i dont care about points and stuff but the thing that i went off at is that we were overlooked by an admin to tell our view about this. obviously, there was need to do so checking irc and contradicting match submissions of 1-0 and 1-2. initially, i inteded to know from the admin who "corrected" the score to 8-0 to 24 why he did so.

anyway im done here, as i said i dont care about points and stuff, so leave it as it is

you're right with the point that the score shouldn't have been 8-0 fire.
I think we can sort the whole matter quite easily now if we just edit the game score to a tie as the game actually wasn't even played. Both teams "say" they don't care about the points and as they're going to be reset very soon anyway this shouldnt harm anyone.
