How come i can connect to mirc using irc.utassault.net (6667)

simply it wont join any channel ... plus when i /list no channels show up

Do you have any nick at all?
Do /nick Syphus then try to join a channel. Perhaps restart mirc too after that.

If that doesn't work then check under options, maybe you can find something or just reinstall mirc.

edit: lol maxiz why did u put the . infront in a forum? hehe Sorry, couldn't resist :P

I just reinstalled MIRC and yes supermic, i have a registered nickname and never had this problem before.

i Just changed ISP recently, and basically i also have problems connecting to MSN beside mirc, i checked antivirus and firewall and everything seems to be ok and normal, can it be ISP related my troubles to connect???

this is pissing me off i feel like playing some pugs chat a bit and maybe start playing UT normally again but this problem is killing me!!!
 
Ok after sometime working without any kind of problems, the quest for a workable IRC continues!!


for more then a week now that i cannot login to IRC why?? i dont have a clue the problem seems to be the same that i stated above.

It's not a server issue it's a client issue!! what can it be???

try icechat... apparently its what cool people use... (im sure ive read that in the shizzle somewhere, got nowt to do with me using it... haha :lol:)

On icechat, i connect identify my nick and nothing happens yet again ... wtf ...

and it connects again and cant join channels ...
 
What about other servers like quakenet.org? Might help to see if it's a problem with irc in general (maybe isp blocking) or just utassault.net.
 
firewall with exceptions on mirc etc.. doesnt work either and firewall off doesnt work either also

it works doh, so it is a ISP issue ????

they do traffic shapping already on torrent files, but that is easyto overcome with deluge but this is kinda stupid... do you think it's related???
 
Well if they do make traffic shaping, i wouldn't be surprised if they were fucking it up.

Try get an SSL compatible IRC client to encrypt your traffic, and connect to utassault.net or irc.utassault.net at port 7000 or port 6697.
