There are many aspects to guild life which can be improved. With any relatively new guild there will be problems, both with the way the guild operates internally and the way we treat each other.
These problems however can have its advantages, the teething problems with the guild will ultimately lead to improvements.
The first and probably the most important guidelines that should be set are with regards too looting and guild conduct.

With these two points in mind, comprehensive details of what should and shouldn’t be done will be available for easy access. I urge everyone interested in the guild to read the information. If you don’t, then there is no reason for you to be in the guild.

--------Looting Rules----------

Section 1 – Introduction to looting and important terms.

First and foremost, everyone wants loot; if people didn’t want loot then the fun from doing raids would die out. It’s natural to want loot and we don’t condone that.
What we do want to emphasise is that you, the member reading this, are one of many guild members all in the same situation. Therefore the first step to gaining friends, gaining respect and appreciation from your guild members is to show you’re not selfish and help one another out.

These rules will be an outline guide which should be carried out in all your raids and groups when you’re with the guild. If you wish to modify them for your own small groups then do so, however for the serious raids and instances these rules should be followed.

Terms and phrases which people might not be aware off:

Random 100 = Typing /random 100; this will give you a random number determined from the actual server between 1 and 100. Similar to the dice roll on loots. These will be used to determine loot for multiple people requiring [Generally on Chests/BOE items]

BOP = Bind on Pickup, items which will become soulbound to you as soon as you loot the corpse. These are important to check, a mistake here and you cannot turn back time. For all major bosses everyone will be expected to pass. Then a random 100 roll may be carried out.
BOE = Bind on Equip, straightforward and means that you must actually manually equip that item to yourself before it becomes soulbound. Less disaster if you loot by mistake or roll when you shouldn’t because this item can be traded.

First point regarding safety of looting, it’s first very important to kill all enemies before looting a corpse. People will stress over what is going on, reading the stats and generally loosing focus on the current objective, which is surviving.
Once the situation is under control, loot the corpse.

Section 2 – The actual looting scenarios and situations.

The idea is fairness, therefore, the very basics of any looting structure is as follows;

BOE Rules;

Rule 1:
Roll on all GREEN BOE items. Generally green items are not that important and therefore a quick roll for everyone will assure the action gets resumed. If someone mentions they require that item. That item will be given to them.

Rule 1.1:
In the event that more than one person requires the item. A random 100 will be performed to determine the winner.

Rule 2.0:
BLUE BOE items. Rule 1 applies here. The difference is however that the quality of this item is better. Therefore if you win a blue item, you should not roll on another. Please read Rule 4.0 for situation where no-one requires the item.
[Please take note this will be further expanded upon later, so read on]

Rule 3.0:
Epic BOE drops are rare and usually very important. In this situation everyone must PASS. The current elected raid or group leader will pickup the item and start a discussion regarding who can make the best use out of the weapon. If more than one person requires the item, the criteria below (Rule 3.1) will be carried out too determine the winner.

Rule 3.1:
The discussion will follow certain criteria such as;

Who takes as much participation in raids and therefore deserves it?
Depending on the item, a bow for example would be best used for Hunters, therefore other people trying to get greed loots will not be appreciated and the chances are you will not be grouped again.

If the criteria are even between the candidates, then the following will take place;
Comparison between loot won, if someone has already won a blue item, then out of fairness the person should decline. Any remaining candidates who have passed the criteria above will then carry out a random 100 for the item.

Rule 4.0:
In the event that no-one requires a BLUE item, the raid leader will pickup the item and asks in the guild channel if anyone requires it. Depending on the leader, Rule 3.1 may be carried out to determine who will get the item. Or the leader may at his or her, own discretion, give the item to someone who requires it based on past raids or on a first come, first served basis.

BOP Rules;

Rule 5:
For BOP GREEN items, people who do not require should pass. Then a roll for the remaining candidates can be carried out. Certain items, such as scourgestones, often dropped in instances should be treated as 1 per raid member.

Rule 6:
Blue BOP items shall follow Rule 5, if you don’t require, pass the item. If more than one person requires the item, a roll will be carried out - However everyone must pass on the item regardless if they want!. If you have previously won a Blue Item, BOP or BOE, you shall be expected to pass.

Rule 7:
Epic BOP items will follow rules similar to that of Rule 3.1, however obviously the group leader cannot pickup the item. So guild members are expected to not make mistakes in looting. Master loot may be used in these situations to prevent any errors with such large raid groups.

Chests & Keys:

Chests are not such an important aspect to the looting process, depending on who is leading the instance, different strategies regarding looting Chests are performed.
One, random 100 for it and someone may loot its contents.
Two, the leader checks the chest and displays its contents to the guild members, depending on the item type (BOE or BOP), rarity (Green, Blue, Epic) the above rules can be set out to govern its winner.

Keys are straight forward; those that already have the key will obviously be expected to pass. Those that require the key can simply random 100 for it.

EXCEPTIONS and further points regarding loot rules

With fairness in mind, guild members will be watched, their attitude and their response to rolls will be monitored. If for example, you win several green items you require over other members. It would be out of fairness be good of you to either give another member your BOE item. Or pass on your next BOP item. This is simply common sense and courtesy to fellow guild members. These actions will not go unnoticed.

Finally, it has been mentioned that blue items, BOE or BOP, if won by a guild member should then pass on the other blue items. This case doesn’t always work.
If for example, two set items for a specific class drops. Either you are the only class of that type in the group, or the other member has it already. Then it only makes sense that you should receive another BLUE item.

In these cases, you should still follow the rules laid out. You should pass on the blue item and wait until everyone has made clear their opinions on the loot. Only then you may ask if you can take it.

This will not be limited to 2 items, but it’s unlikely that you would be in a situation, where you would win more than 2 blue items that no one else in a raid group wanted.

Finally in the event that nobody requires any blue items, enchanters may pickup the item and disenchant it. This can be done in turns for enchanters who are not yet on 300 skill level for enchanting. If you are on 300 skill level, then you will simply receive the disenchanted item from another enchanter.

Final Comments

Members please take note of the rules and guidelines laid out. Anyone taking places in raids will be required to have read the rules here first. In saying you have read the rules, you will be in an agreement which declares to everyone in the raid that you will not be making mistakes. Mistakes and error lootings will not be brushed aside lightly.
Depending on the number of offences, council members will discuss the appropriate action to take place on the offender.
But I’m sure you all agree these steps should not have to be made necessary.
