hi guys. I recently managed to spill cream liquor all over my laptop and as a result the keyboard is now completely knackered. is there anyway to disable it? I have tried to remove the drivers (both in the keyboard properties menu and manually) without any luck. any ideas?

and also, if there is no way to disable to keyboard, I think I might just buy a new laptop. I am only a student, so I'd be looking for something fairly cheap but does the job well. any ideas?

many thanks :)

well if the alternative is buying a new one, then you might want to try opening it up and cutting the wire that goes from the keyboard to the mobo

I can't replace the keyboard, the inside is screwed. I might try opening it but i'm not very technical or an engineer.. I tried looking on the web for a guide but cant find one. the laptop is a packard bell easynote r1910.

edit: i've sent the laptop off to a friend and he is hopefully going to either do something with the bios or physically disable the keyboard.. feel free to recommend any laptops however! i've found a dell inspiron which looks quite good..

I was looking at porn, and made a mess all over my laptop and as a result the keyboard is now completely knackered.

/side note.
the g/f's son-in-law kicked over a glass of orange, over there laptop, they had to sent it away, to b told that the hdd inside the laptop could not b saved, So when they got it back, they gave it to a friend of theres, who took there HDD out, saved all there information, and now they got a spare hdd, (they also got payed out and got them selfs, a nice new laptop)
If u going to scrap the laptop, might as well open it up and see what u or a friend can do

dells never look good. They're the prototype of ugly. But that's my opinion. Their last model does look nice.

Opening up a laptop isn't hard, just take out the screws in a certain order, and put the on marked pieces of paper, or any other structured method, so you can put it back. You can even make pictures of your progress, so if you forget what to do, you can check back.
