I thought the dsitribution would be very nice, turns out to be very noisy

Anyway, boosted contrast and started counting sample areas selected at random.

With 48 samples of 100 pixel fields I get average of 135796 stars with 104026 and 167565 for lower and upper 1-sigma bound

As said, very noisy
