When i try to run demos by opening the demo using unreal tournament i get a critical error message. Is this the correct method of viewing demos or am i doing it completely wrong.

    From http://www.neorox.co.uk/Unreal/Demos/Index.html

To view these demos first unzip them to your Unreal tournament System folder
    (Default is C:\UnrealTournament\System ) using http://www.winzip.com/ddchomea.htm or http://www.rarsoft.com/download.htm

    Then use the following commands

demoplay <filename> to play a demo, no need for .dem afterwoulds
stopdemo to stop a demo recording/playing

demoplay <filename>?noframecap plays the demo as fast as possible.
    demoplay <filename>?timebased gives smoother playback.
demoplay <filename>?3rdperson lets you fly around a demo as if a spectator, but only as far as that player could see.
All thse can be used together like demoplay <filename>?noframecap?3rdperson

If you get any errors watching any of these demos it is most likly you don't have that version of cshp so download this CSHP.zip and extract it into your cache folder making sure its clean first.

    Cheers Ace

I take it that the demoplay command is entered into the system console.

    Works a treat Ace.

I noticed that you dont view your weapon. Does this help with the framerate etc.

I think Ace plays without a weapon so that he can see more of the screen.

I tried it once, kept forgetting which weapon I had out :)

tbh I prefer all the nice weapons and flashes, kinda like this :mingun:

huh i didn't think that showed up in a demo ?

Yeah I hide my wpn, mainly cos the deemer and rocks are just too big and of course it helps on frames. I like a constant 60 fps.
