Do u know of anyway to record a demo from a bind BUT make it record the files sequentially? so 1st press is 01 then 02 then 03 etc ?

this would be really handy for recording... also small text somewhere on the screen showing the duration of the recording, and the size of the file.. much like Q3 does!

anyone wanna make a MOD?

as for the multiple demo recing it's can be done via a simple bind i have 1 :) , but for the text thingie i don't know how 2 solve it i think you must recode the demo engine but then again i may be wrong....... as always

well dunno if i can it may be considered a cheat ;) ohhh well here goes :)

1: map this to an empty key "exec firststop.txt" without
the ""

2: make a .txt file called firstdemo.txt in the /system dir (UT's system dir that is :) ) i use the txt files cuz i don't have enough aliases :)

3:p ut this in the .txt file "demorec firstdemo | set input u exec firststop.txt" without the ""

4: make a .txt file called firststop.txt and put this in it "stopdemo firstdemo | set input u exec seconddemo.txt"

5: make a .txt file called seconddemo.txt and put this in
it "demorec seconddemo | set input u exec secondstop.txt"

6: make a .txt file called firststop.txt and put this in it "stopdemo seconddemo | set input u exec thirddemo.txt"

7: add as many .txt files as you need just reedit the files

done :)

remember if you only want 2 rec without using th sto file reedit so it has recs another demo instead of stoping it. hope i made myself clear :)

anyway I got an idea that may be able to say when u start recording etc and tell u how long the demo is etc.
Ill have a quick go at making a mirc script that will allow you to enter the key etc.

Got a rough idea how to do it now.

U input the key u want to bind to and the max amount of demos and the name of the demo

It then makes .txt files needed in ur ut system dir and binds the key for u.
Then u press this key once at the start of each map and it says in teamsay : "recording demo NRGmatch1" and at the end of the match u press it again and it says : teamsay "stopped demo NRGmatch1". then it doe steh same for NRGmatch2, etc.

not sure if it should loop or not ie after you have recorded the max amount it overwrites the first one.

Also i could bind it like press d+s to start recording and s+e to stop recording and d+r to reset to defaults.


If you haven't installed ut in the default dir this pops up

Oh yeah if the key is already binded to something it will pop up a little window asking are you sure to want to bind y to record demos instead of "say I 0wnz j00"

Decided to bind a seperate button to stop the demos, since if I would have just used 1 button the bind would mess up if u frgot to stop the demo at the end of the level

Well then i hope that its not needed "stopdemo firstdemo" but only stopdemo? Otherwise problem will remain, but just stopdemo will do i guess.

Finished and tested, it works, just gotta make the help button work. I'll do that later tonight prolly.
