bot pathing

small question about bothpathing...

well i don't understand a fuck of it... after using pathlogic http://forums.utassault.net/attachment.php?attachmentid=16821&d=1101605855 i tried to make some basic bothpathing for maps wo don't have that or do have a fucked up bothpathing...

i tried this tool in as-gogotha][al when the bots captured the huronssword they did go back to there base and walked like in a dm level... however i had a connecting line to the last objective.... i made the the fortstandards with defencepriority

i thought to use mindreader http://[email protected]/games/mindreader.zip to find out how the bots work but it didn't help at all

i loaded as-bioassaultSE_previeuw and found out that the bots stuck before the biochamber... and i can just not find out why that is in ued it looks good i think...

before i get the question "why do you need bots"... well it's just that i want to play maps where bots can complete the level... maybe that's also an idea so that people might try to learn the level....

so are there some basic rulles you need to know for bothpathing? ( i checked out birrabrothers btw)

Just wondering, whats bothpathing?

If you mean bot pathing, I have just done it manualy in the past. Just go along the basic path you want them to follow adding nodes/apples. Then build the paths and you should see them join. In one of my old maps I manage to get the bots to use hammer launching.

i ment botpathing yah. soz for the typo's

hammerlaunching isn't hard to get to work... works as an elevator but slightly diffrent..

about the pathlogic.. you don't HAVE to place the nodes, but you can see the nodes and i can see them follow them nicely.. but they just don't always take the good path..... Is it very inportant to name the nearestpathnode the same as the fortstandard name?
 
It says to do it but the bots react on their own accord to fort standards, they don't really need any pathing when they are near them. I tried to use pathlogic a while ago, but I never got it working properly so I dumped it and just did it manualy :)
 
using leagueas sometimes makes bot just not want to touch an objective. Try it with normal As.. but i dont know why that is.
