This makes me sick. Patriotism keeps people, especially Americans, in their own self-centred bubble. Creating hatred towards the patriot and building barriers between nations.

A union is strong; but only for the people inside the union, and who will the union consist of? All the American people? No. The rich Americans who rule the country. A democracy is “A system of government by which political sovereignty is retained by the people and either exercised directly by citizens or through their elected representatives.” NOT the totalitarion attitude of supporting “ONE man”. If elected. Obama will continue the secret dictatorship that blind Americans have been enslaved under for decades. Every individual who votes for the so called “Democracy” will only be furthering their reach from a co-operative socialist America.

[EDIT] Gerald Stanley Lee is obviously not musically educated. A TUNE can only be played. It is a SONG that is sung. So America, therefore, will only be “played”.

sigh.

Patrionism makes people feel like they are the same, and Obama is aiming at that. He wants people to feel one, instead of black, white, rich or poor.
Like going on a strike with your colleagues, wether they are high ranked or low ranked, you feel one with them because you have the same goal.

I believe that patriotism, like religion, media etc. is used as a method of control. It does not actually benefit the people apart from making them FEEL united, but are they actually united? Would the whole nation unite to protest against injustice? And if they did would the "democratic" government act on behalf of the people?

My point is that America is on the brink of voting in a "democracy", but a government which calls themselves a democracy is often not what it claims to be... We have a democracy in England, but we were NOT ALLOWED to protest against the injustice in Tibet when the olympic torch passed through London.

real democracy doesn't excist. Decission making would be a pain if everything would be done according a system of real democracy.

America only annoys me with it polution and it's weaponlaw. Further i dont really care what the yanks do, i just hope Obama becomes the next president or else i could see America getting bommed/attacked by several arabic country's

I really doubt whether Obama will do anything to change the status quo in America. The people with the real power wouldn't let him, and in any case he's probably part of that system anyway.
