There always was whining, flaming an moaning right from day 1. Hell a guy (whose name escapes me) bitched right when the league was formed about the fact that he'd had the idea first, and then there was the years of Gazzy fun that followed. Still most of it wasn't that bad, yes there were some...
Sorry, I was reading that site and it reminded me so much of my days here that I had to come and rifle through some old threads :D Decided to do a bit of necromancy whilst I was here.
Then they should roll out IPv6 like they should have done 10 bloody years ago. Or RIPE should charge for IP's, what bugs me is not the charge, its the fact that ISP's are charging for IP's when they get them for free.
Where has this reputation of yours come from doh? I've always know you as a kind, generous, considerate kinda guy, I am shocked to here such disparaging remarks about you.
Well my order is in with ADSL24 and hopefully i'll be switched by the end of next week. Seems a shame to ditch Nildram after all this time, they were the shining light in a sea of crap but it seems they've since sold their soul to the devil.
Well that is the idea yes, they use their own equipment and therefore can save money by managing it themselves and not leasing it from BT but that of course leaves a scope to provide both a better or worse service than BT since they can use cheaper or more expensive equipment, better or worse...
LLU is seperate but you are then subject to the ISP's contention policies and not BT's, which is why Tiscali LLU is generally considered uber wank, because they use higher contention ratio's than BT.
Contention wouldn't be your problem as it doesn't affect sync speed.
I know the difference between a line drop and an outage w0ss :P I am talking about having line sync but no connection to the ISP, and for 30mins to and hour or 2.
Anyway it seems I can get Be, but the question is, is it going to be worth it, 24meg sounds nice but my line is longer than Ron...
Anyone here use Entanet for their broadband? Or rather one of their resellers like ADSL24 (since they don't sell direct). I have been with Nildram since forever (the 90's) and they have always been rock solid and provided what I want (primarily a block of 5 IP's, and lax download limits) but...
The Ache was used for DC and breifly for BF 2142, it seems only right to continue the tradition, there is even a forum already for that clan buried around here.
Hahaha. I went to Aston, FYI for those who don't know its in Birmingham. Good Science based university, although I don't rate the Comp Sci course terribly highly its been 8 years since I was there so I guess a lot has changed. As for the city, well Birmingham probably isn't on anyone tops lists...
Quad core and GT every single time.
Oh and blade is right, if your going for 4Gb, install Vista x64, else you'll only really make use of 2.5Gb of it (the 3Gb limit includes Gfx Card RAM).
There are of course OEM copies of Vista available in "certain" places which do not require a key or activation. They do suffer from the same caveat tho, you have to re-install if you change motherboard.
With Vista your fine with x64 as driver support it good (as good as Vista 32), however I would stay well clear of XP x64 as driver support is extremely lacking.
