HELLO,

I'm upgrading my pc. Already got a good Power Supply, case and monitor, keyboard, video card, hard disc and mouse.

I just need: a CPU, motherboard and memory. (and maybe a SSD)

Just a few questions here. I have no idea about bus speeds, mhz's and other things which might be a bottle neck, so that's why I made this thread.

For CPU I spied:
Intel Core i5 2500K Boxed

AFAIK, I should only watch that the FSB is matched with my memory speed or something?
Will this be compatible or will there be a bottle neck?

Also I got a cheap ass GT 240 video card, which obviously will be the bottleneck, but I can always upgrade that later.

Is this a good set up, orrrr does anybody have suggestions for another type of motherboard/memory? Or will this suffice? Thanks in advance.
Also, will the SSD drive fit into this motherboard? Lol.
 
SSD should be top of the list.

Not a consideration, or an after thought.

TOP of the list.

I've got the Crucial M4 512 SSD in my laptop, and the thing screams along. I also use SSDs in my desktop PCs as well and they really do make the system much more responsive.
 
looks well mate.

I recommend to not use SSD only.

Use it for Windows and programms..for your rest data try to use/buy a normal HDD
 
Yeah I'm definately getting the SSD, others at work also suggested it. I'll just put W7 and most played games/programs on it, movies and stuff will be on a normal HDD.
Is it recommended to use 64bit with SSD? Or is it recommended to use 64bit anyway?

And the rest of the set-up is good? (motherboard+memory combination etc)
