Looking back to my own days I played this game active, I can not believe how slow the progress in new racing games progresses. Sometimes it seems the time has stopped. I should install the game again.

Have you thought about giving iRacing a go? Expensive, but it's as close to a sequal to GPL as you'll get. They're going to be adding the Lotus 49 next year for the GPL fans actually

No I did not watch iRacing until now. My last PC racing games hopes I followed the progress a little bit recently are rFactor 2 and GTR 3.
