Why do the majority of you still use Internet Explorer?

Well, it's always good to have choices. So as long as people know they have a choice between IE and A.Nother browser. It's all good.

The list of problems with IE is huge, and it's highly unlikely they will be fixed. Not to start a war here between the browser people, but after developing a site or 2 which is valid XHTML/CSS and works fine in Firefox, you stick it in IE and get all sorts of weird errors.

The IE tolerance isn't a good thing, as sometimes when you want a specific behavior from an ID or class object, it doesn't do what you tell it. Hughly fustrating.

Firefox doesn't load quite as quickly than IE, but hey - it isn't integrated into the operating system. However I find browsing and surfing is a lot quicker in FF than IE. And it gets even better over time with the tabbed browsing as you dont have lots of pages open for 6-8 hours which gradually slow down over time.

And thats not even mentioning spyware :\

Opera is still the fastest, best overall solution for me.
Firefox is close 2nd, still feels sluggish and or not right in some places.
I don't use IE anymore.
I downloaded Opera the other day, loaded it up and couldn't believe how cluttered and untidy it was. It also has built-in adverts and stuff? Why the hell would anyone ditch IE and pay for Opera is beyond me. But, personally choice is a good thing like I've said already.

havent had any trubble with IE as far as I remember so why shuld I change just cus ppl say its crap and unsecure  its often not the computers fault its the person sitting behind it :p:

i have firefox installed but always find myself going back to ie cuz some sites just dont load right and also ie seems to start up faster

the user is allways fault :P

Off topic:

I agree. It's never the computers fault. It's either user error (for clicking yes or no on an ActiveX dialogue) or the programmers fault for allowing their software to do something it isn't supposed too (install applications on the users machine without permissions).

It isn't the users fault if they are tricked or exploited though. They are just, at worst, under educated in the area of computers and/or vunerable people.

indeed but after their first virus most ppl get protection and notice that u get 1 billion trojans and crap after browsing on "werid" sites and pretty much gets forced to learn that firewalls and virus proggies aint that bad to have and that it wont be so clever to click on yes on dodgy popups and stuff;)

Well im using IE cos it's there and i didnt have enough trouble with it yet to justify looking for another solution.

if u dont want it to be clustered then it's not, opra lets you customize nearly everything, be it functionality or looks, it has all the features that firfox has, it has mouse gestures and as for the banner... well there are ways of getting rid of it... i mean paying of course... ;)

i find firefox loads faster and bugs less when doing so, other than that i got broadband and couldnt give a toss:p:

Actually, many of the sites that you think are squiky clean and safe probably leave some kind of spyware piece of bullshit behind on your PC I think.
Not that I'd actually give a tiny shit about the safety of my own PC, but I use Firefox because of the tabbed browsing and the fact that it's not Microsoft, but it's still decent ;)

you and safety with all that rushian kiddy porn download shit lmfao

Tried firefox some week's ago crashed a few times, loads slow and was too awkard to use.. never had any problems with I.E. it has built in pop up blocker it's fast and never had any spyware/virus's on my pc.

Only thing that annoys me about i.e. is the fact it wont download/install anything without u knowing first unless u turn of all the check's... ( i guess it's there to stop spyware. )

Firefox or firebird on this older puter, cba upgrading;) Once you get used to tabbing using IE feels like having your hands cut off whilst having the hard-on of the century

well ie is ok for me since i dont need anything more , but easier to get trojans and viruses (like i got the other day)
but firefox is better from wut i heard , dunno about mozzila :uhh:
