This is stolen from another forum, but I found it fun...and much harder than you might first think!

Basically the challenge is to name your best XI in the history of football with the following conditions:

- You can't have 2 players from the same country
- You can't have 2 players from the same club (any era) eg; You cant choose Alfredo di Stefano and Cristiano Ronaldo as they both played for Real Madrid, albeit several decades apart.
- You can choose a formation but it must be a recognised one.

Here is mine

Yashin

Zanetti
Beckenbauer
Moore
Tresor

Iniesta
Zico
Totti

Dalglish
Van Basten
C. Ronaldo

Keane, CR7 and Scholes all Man utd
Gullit and Terry both Chelsea
Cafu and Maldini both Milan
Casillas and CR7 and R9 all Real Madrid
Shearer, Scholes and Terry all English!

Apart from not being a recognised formation, most playing out of position and sancho + kompany both played at Manchester City. Yep flawless

Apart from not being a recognised formation
We all recognize this as being the most dominant formation in any amateur association football league. Didn't realize you were counting Youth Leagues, as it's not as if Man City's development leagues are the same as their PL squad.

Where is 2-1-4-3 an accepted formation.

You have 7 strikers/forwards. Even allowing 2 of them to play as wingers even though you have 3 forwards, no way can Bergkamp and Pele play central midfield. Sancho as a defensive mid now?

Sancho completed an £8million move, youth team or not, he had a contract and Dortmund bought him out of it, so of course it counts.

Must try harder.
