afaik Gf3 did extraordinarily great in ut .
brave had one too and got 70-80 frames looking from high tower onto siege base.
might be thurs gf3 aswell.

Xp2000+
ATI REadeon 8500
512ddr pc 2700

the ATI Readeon 8500 is prolly 1 of the best cards ver made for UT...

1A Netspeed doesnt affect fps to any noticable degree, unless u put it to one or something stupid.

2. If vsync is on, it caps your framerate at your monitor's refresh rate (typically 75hz / 75FPS).

2A vsync caps the number of frames ur computer is processing aye, but, as ur monitor can only display 75- wotever fps, then threes no point having ur comp doin the extra work.

3. Defragged your hard disk? And how full is it anyway? If the harddisk is more than 50% full, performance suffers. Clear out all non-essential pr0n/war3z/mp3.

3A Couldnt agree more

7. What driver version are you using for your graphics card?

7A - This does actually make one hell of a difference, try different ones, the newest arent always the best!

:D Try reinstalling UT as well, especially if uv got loads of patches / mods / skins / maps installed.

I do have :
amd1800
512ddr 2700
gforce 3ti 200 (128mb)
-----------------------------

It's all about tweaking not just in ut, in ure windows, i do have win xp and it works fine for me i do have around 60-80 fps in bridge with boots, so what u need to do is disable all the nice grafic in winzp, if someone needs further help the I can assistance u, and the second thing is, clock ure grafic card, it's not that hard as cloking a cpu /have a nice day

ive clocked mine a slight bit. but dont notice any degree of higher performance, only some benchmarks give me bout some percent of more marks.

what really makes the difference is

a) grafics card drivers, and setting them up properly
b) getting the right renderer files for UT (for Opengl) dunno any newer D3D files than those from version 436.

I played most of my UT on A p ]i[ 450
32meg Savage 4
And I always got 45 FPS everywhere all games.

Now I have Gforce2 64 meg pro (oldie but a goodie)
And I get 75 fps everywhere all games. on a Athlon 2000xp+

So I'm ok thanks :)

k im sure my fps are a lil bit too low... may as well see if anyone can see why ;)

specs:

athlonxp 2000
512 PC2100
Asus a7v8x
Geforce 3 64mb (original) on 43.45 dets

running UT at 1024x768, with everything on high

heres me d3d settings
