What are the benefits of using OpenGL over Direct3D? I've only ever used D3D but if OpenGL would be better on my Radeon 9600 Pro I'd be interested.

ati and opengl is a :nono:however it should work much better with 9600 then with any other modern ati cards.

Well ... since some (can't remember) version of ati drivers they broke something in ogl support. Using older drivers may do the trick.

Putting the old cat 4.10 ogl dll file in your UT system folder would work for 9600/9800 pro's. Only helps get rid of newer Cat OGL problems, usually just easier to switch to D3D7 or D3D8,

with "old" pc in open gl u can minimize ut faster that d3d to can check irc, connect ts o see hot nuce pic before play a map.. now i get new pc and can mininime fast with d3d too.

try out d3d8, which can be found here also: http://cwdohnal.home.mindspring.com/utglr/
