IRC cant connect

hey
my comp has been reinstalled a few days ago. i dl'ed irc but cant connect.
i keep getting the message:
[20:35] * Connect retry #1 irc.worldassault.net (6667)
-
[20:35] * Unable to resolve server

sofar i tried to join other server like:
worldassault
toasty
bacon
also tried a few other ports

i think it has to do something with my own computer.
there is McAfee in it. dno if this does only block irc.
and no its not blocked with windows firewall.
maybe in control panel --> internet options?

any ideas are welcom

it was McAfee after all
