Looks likeone of them is displaying the difference between current temp and max temp (tj). CoreTemp can do this (not by default) Settings / "Show delta to tjunction max temp".

My Q6600 (overclocked to 3ghz)

EDIT: Forgot to mention, that's with ASUS Qfan switched on....CPU fan @ 900rpm. /EDIT

actually the values are quite similar.

Dunno this Nvidia tool, but it says Tj Temp there.
So it looks like the program showing the Delta of tjunction.

Max. Tj of your CPU is 105.
Let's take core 1: CoreTemp says: 49°. nvidia Tool says Tj of 54°. So 105 - 49 = 56 overall, so it's not the same, but very similar.

edit: trasher beat me.

Got them from Intel website.
Ofc Intel delivering such low temperatures, so they are on the save side.

tbh high danger is the wrong word for it, but never thought about changing it.

Read somewhere that manufacturers consider the lifetime of their CPUs up to 10 years, so i'm sure you can run them with higher temps without probs.
it will only reduce lifetime. But let's be serious, it doesnt matter if the lifetime drops from 10 to 7 or even 5 years.
You'll have a new CPU anyway before that time.

Oh and remember that those temps representing CPU-temps. So Corevalues could be easily 4-5 degrees higher.

edit: btw, this nvidia tool owns. it says that you've 24GHz
